Back in the day, my wife would often find me watching a football game on TV (sound off), reading a book, listening to music at the same time. Now I’m so frigging old I can barely concentrate on one thing at a time. Can’t multitask anymore, which makes trying to fix lunch rather chancy.
I can multitask too. I like to write stories or draw pictures while I’m browsing the web, whether it’s checking out my deviantArt page or watching videos on YouTube.
It depends on the task. I’m able to do laundry, cook dinner, research on the Internet, and listen to music all at once. However, when working from home and having to write a lengthy paper, then sure, I pretty much just have to focus on that—no noise, no distractions. Some tasks don’t require any mental bandwidth, some do.

When I was younger I could multitask, but now I’m like Sherman. I’m laser… now what was it I was thinking of?

Well, possibly also hiding from Megan, but he’s doing a fair job there too.

Aside from eating, it’s all he does.

Nothing to do can be very stressful, you never know when you are finished.

I also do nothing very well, but sometimes it’s more fun to do stuff.

I like to have a football/baseball game on while doing something on the computer. Usually the game is finished before I am.

Megan better not find out that he is doing nothing. She will take care of that in a jiffy.

Think about it, multitasking; still doing one thing at a time…
