Musk does seem to be intent on tearing down anything that Twitter ever got right. I know he’s bright, or at least has bright moments, but this particular idea seems dumber than a box of crocks.

His teardowns are courting the Radical Right and their mega-donors; Their ilk, going back to Stalin and Adolf, understood the need for a Loud media voice, that relied on volume and repetition rather than actual facts to win over an audience. Remeber ‘Pravda’, and Der Sturmer’, Both only good for wiping one’s outt with, and by all reports, not even that good for That (cheap coarse esily torn paper, and the ink ran when dapened). Goebbels summed it up well.. Tell a lie big enough, loudly enough, and often enough, and people will believe it is the truth. Musk is turning twitter into their cyber-descendant… and he cannot now even claim it is of any use a$$-wipe. But the stupid, unedcated, and malicious will flock to it nonetheless, the current stats are showing… while those who prefer rational discourse and facts are leaving in even greater numbers. Twitter will become another little bubble-world, where psychotics bond with other psychotics, liars with other liars, and none of them ever has to be faced with unpleasant Truths that they prefer to hide from.

Which would be fine, if their words did not inflame their followeres to run out and act on those words, attacking with hammers old men in their homes, or walking into a bar of happy people just enjoying themselves, none of whom the follower knew in Any way- and leaving a trail of corpses and wounded in their wake.I think people who call upon others to go out and do harm to others (Kill the Jews! Kill all the gays! Kill the blacks, latinos, and everyone who doesn’t look, think, and act like you!), and actually Says The Words directing harm to others, should be named as co-conspirators/aiders-and-abbetors to any and all crimes the people they incite then do. Their right to ‘free speech’ stops where their words incite violence to others, just as their right to freely swing their arms around in wide circles ends where my nose begins.Their speech is no longer ‘Free’ when it costs lives.

Remember, only some 23% or Americans are even ON Twitter, and of them, some 9% post about 90% of the content.

Why has that troll not been banned for all his blatent lies and hate speech? Are the moderators really just ignoring him?

Not wanting to listen to Prince Hector Qiustizia’s drivel isn’t censorship. It’s unfortunate GoComics doesn’t have a mute button.

I’m not sure how Elon is going to make the $1 billion annual debt payments for a site that’s becoming an unhinged middle aged man’s spiraling divorce blog.

Tell me again why lying about a fire in a theater or equivalent harmful, even life-threatening, deception [e.g. alt-reality, alternate facts, etc] is now seemingly being defined as protected free speech.

Musk just wants to be the center of attention. As P.T. Barnum said “There’s no such thing as bad publicity”. As long as they’re paying attention to him he really doesn’t care what they say.

Just pull the plug – let Twitter die.

Speaking from the left, I’m a big fan of free speech, even speech I don’t like. But that doesn’t mean that every platform has to welcome every speaker.

Technology journalist Paris Marx has written an essay for Time Magazine in which he punctures the myth that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has built around himself as a bold visionary leading humanity to grand future. Marx starts out by looking at the missteps made at Tesla, where he charges that Musk has vastly overhyped the safety of his cars’ “autopilot” feature.

Musk-ox claims it’s all about free speach to all. It doesn’t mean there are not consequences.

I have about as much interest in what occurs on Twitter as I do in the latest ravings from the National Enquirer or the results of Friday’s World Cup match between Ghana and Uruguay. Fortunately, it’s ridiculously easy to avoid all of them.

Please just stop twittering, and especially stop retweeting. Guess it is hard resist anything but temptation. Oh, and about facebook……..

Here’s a comforting thought. Information is power. Everything anyone ever posted on twitter is now the property of the richest, most ruthless, capitalist on the planet.
