Hey Red, just wait until you run into an David Attenborough nature program. That’ll prepare you for adulthood.

Wrong conspiracy. It was cheap & easy, thus common, to raise rabbits for food. Bugs humanized them. Then Snoopy thought it was yucky that coyotes eat bunnies. Who shot Bambi’s Mom? Meat packers want you buying their product. It kind of backfired when the veg crowd joined.

And here is a prime example of what can happen when you allow “do gooders” to dictate what you can see and do. Warner Bros cartoons are classics that everyone loved, and the do gooders managed to get rid of them to “protect the little children”. Same thing happened to comic books, and let us not forget the movie business Hays Code. People need to be “protected”, yeah right. We need to be protected from social dictators. Newest dictators are the cancel culture ones on social media.

Where I live, we do not have road runners. A few years ago, I spent much time in AZ, and I just loved watching the road runners! OK, I am easily amused at times, but sitting at In and Out outside in the winter because it was warm enough, looking at the Catalina Mountains, and seeing a road runner, well, running, was a real source of contentment and joy for me. However, I like to live most of my life without desert pests and with lots of local, fresh water. As far as the cartoons, even as a young child I found those to be highly violent.

To use the cold cruelty associated with the words ‘kill’ and violence and attach it to classic Looney Tunes is just plain wrong. The toons involved unending chases and misplaced ‘goals’….but never were they achieved. Even when Elmer Fudd thought he killed Bugs he was mortified. Sylvester didn’t know what to do the the one time he actually swallowed Tweety and then coughed him up and Wile E Coyote was too consumed with his own ‘genius’ to ever even come close to outsmarting the roadrunner. They are cartoons. They are immensely fun characters. Enjoy! …and if you can’t then just walk away….find someone or something else to blame.
