Just think what could’ve happened had the high court put off on making its anti-Roe decision until after the midterm elections. It’s a good thing the court isn’t very politically savvy.

Bob, do you have any examples over the last 50 years of the Rs making a nationwide “oops”, reflecting on it, and NOT doubling down? Polls consistently show that the majority of Americans think Abortion should be legal. Why would you expect any other result with Republicans pushing otherwise?

You got that right (for once). But it wasn’t just Abortion. The smart money was saying (to Democratic hopefuls) for heaven’s sake, don’t talk about “democracy”, no one cares about “democracy”. But turns out that people care a lot about it.

Ironic, isn’t it? It took a Republican president and a Republican majority in the Senate to appoint an extremely conservative Supreme Court, who then overturned Republicans’ most-hated precedent and for what? To turn the “Red Wave” into a trickle and create the conditions necessary for a true civil war within the GOP.
