Bob Gorrell and the rest of the GOP are for Open Lying, The Big Lie, Leniency for White Collar Republicans criminals, Want to Tax YOu to pay for their Private Prisons, and both identifies as a Serial LIARS.

And the GOP is for taking away rights, stopping social security, refusing to give up when they lose and spreading fake news a la Alex Jones. . I"ll take the Democrats.

While I certainly understand why someone who is in the upper middle class and above would vote for GOP candidates, I think anybody else who does is just voting that way because of scare tactics (see cartoon) and is voting against their interests.

(Simple example: health care. EVERY attempt to try an alleviate the burden of health care costs for Americans has been met with a barrage of specious reasoning that has convinced people that Soviet style communism is just an election away.)

And now, with the advent of the MAGA crowd, the scare tactics have reached such a fevered pitch that it’s unclear what the “Grand Old Party” would actually DO to help the very people they claim to represent.

If the first panel were true, I’d probably identify as Repub. The trouble is, the first panel is a FLAT OUT LIE, so I’ll stick with the only truth telling and caring party, the Democrats.

This is the “republican” platform. We’ll exaggerate and invent a Democratic strawman to run against, but don’t ask us what we stand for because we have no idea how to solve America’s problems and the things we want to do, the public won’t like.

I’ll just pick one point. I’m interested in how people think and how they behave. I’ve studied enough and lived long enough to know that there’s a lot of variation, both cultural and individual. So long as people don’t hurt each other, I’m pretty open to whatever people want to think and do. I have been interested to discover that there is a not insignificant number of people who feel that their gender identity doesn’t match their biological identity. That may be the wrong way to describe it, but you know what I mean. I happen to have dealings with a person who has gone through a gender switch. When I first met this person, she was female; called herself by a name usually used by females, dressed as a female, and so on. I didn’t know anything about her private life (and still don’t). After I had known her (not very well) for about a year I noticed that she was going through changes. I don’t deal with her very often, so a lot happened in between encounters. After a year or so it was clear that this person was now male. He uses a name usually used by men, dresses as a man, has a beard, and so on. I still don’t know anything about his private life. My impression (it’s only an impression, since I don’t know him well) is that he’s happier now. I’m happy for him. What’s the problem? Let him be what he wants to be.

The statements in the first panel are merely fabricated talking points from propaganda news outlets and websites that have no credibility. It is the pre-election last chance for the fractured gop party.

The Trumpist Republican Party is for White Christian Nationalism, womb regulations, harassing anyone who doesn’t fit their ideas of traditional gender roles, gutting Social Security & Medicare, & giving billionaires another round of tax cuts.

A few additional points.

- “Lenient bail for criminals”. I certainly wouldn’t want anyone on my jury that has already decided I’m guilty. And I wouldn’t want to be arrested and not have any money for bail. Of course, that’s rarely a problem for the well-to-do. The rich get hotshot lawyers, the poor get a jail cell, being punished before any finding of guilt.

- “People can identify as whatever they want”. That’s the least of it. The craziest among the Democrats think that children should be drugged (with a permanent effect on their sexual development) or receive surgery, based on a perception of dysphoria. Children.

Republicans have a history of attacking illegal immigrants while hiring them to do the jobs that no American will do, like being their servants and marrying Mango Mussolini. Most of the inflation in the US was caused by poor Covid response, pro Putin policies and crime promotion (war on drugs) making crime the only way many people can survive.
