There once was a Rock, strong and bold,

    In politics, endorsements he’d hold.

    From Obama to Biden,

He chose with such pride in,

Yet regrets in his story now told.

    = = =

    Republicans now sing his praise,

But his punditry fails in its ways.

    For endorsements once grand,

    Now slip through his hand,

In a political twist, Rock’s dismayed.

Looks like I missed the mark with my Monday prediction. Al’s back to bashing transgender folks. Thank goodness Easter’s over, so Al can get back to his favorite pastime: spreading hate.

@Free or Not?The scripture in the Bible that states that Jesus embraced everyone and told them to “Go and sin no more” is John 8:1-11.

In this passage, a woman caught in adultery is brought to Jesus by the scribes and Pharisees. They accuse her of sin and ask Jesus what they should do with her. Jesus responds by saying, “Let the one who is without sin cast the first stone.” The crowd disperses, leaving only Jesus and the woman.

Jesus then says to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t anyone condemn you?” She replies, “No one, sir.” Then Jesus says, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”

This passage shows that Jesus is willing to embrace everyone, even those who have sinned. He does not condemn the woman, but instead tells her to go and sin no more. This is an important message of hope and forgiveness, grace and mercy for ALL people.

And perhaps this Monday we’ll see Mr. Goodwins next installment of modern day Biblical aphorisms where he calls out the modern-day Pharisees hawking $59.99 bibles. God bless America!

Allow me to assuage your deep concern of me taking scripture references of the biblical canon “out of context”. My only concern is the hypocrisy of Al Goodwin’s image celebrating Easter in light of his consistent denigration of immigrants seeking refuge. I am not engaging in a political battle; my sole purpose is to highlight the undeniable inconsistency in his work.

As a Christian, shouldn’t you not only celebrate the true meaning of Easter, but also call out Al Goodwin and others like him to prioritize their inner integrity and genuine righteousness over outward displays of piety?

This serves as a reminder that true faith and moral character are more important than superficial religiosity.

Whether or not I am a faithful Christian is between me and God. However, I believe that the Bible is a valuable source of wisdom and guidance, and those that purport to live their lives according to its teachings during key religious calendar dates only to be hypocritical in their actions the remainder of the year should be called out for the “whitewashed tombs” that they are. I believe that we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to welcome and protect the stranger and the refugee.

The Bible teaches that hypocrisy is a serious sin that is offensive to God. Hypocrites are those who pretend to be something they are not, and they often use religion as a cloak for their own selfish motives.

Ahhh…Easter is upon us and here come the righteous sermonizers from the right-wing editorial comics, popping up like clockwork. Bet Al’s gearing up for his weekly illegal immigrant tirade come Monday. But hey, maybe just for this weekend, he’ll take a breather and actually reflect on a few biblical excerpts.

Leviticus 19:33-34: “When a foreigner resides among you in your land, you shall not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”Deuteronomy 10:19: “Love the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.”Matthew 25:35: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”Romans 12:13: “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”

As usual, Mr. Lester leaves out an important fact this case — the “reporter” Steve Baker was not associated with a news publication three years ago on Jan. 6, when the alleged misdemeanor took place . To report from the US Capitol and claim press status, reporters typically need official credentials issued by the US Congress. These credentials are provided through the Standing Committee of Correspondents, which oversees accreditation for journalists covering Congress. Additionally, reporters may need to adhere to specific guidelines and regulations set by the institution they represent and follow professional journalistic standards. I suppose Lester also claims to be a reporter, and probably got his press credentials at the same outfit that gave Herschel Walker his “sherrif’s badge”.

The Cato Institute is a libertarian think tank founded in 1977. It promotes free-market policies, limited government, and individual liberties, so I would imagine that some of the MAGA spectrum would consider it a reputable source for libertarian perspectives. Based on that MMMV (MAGA mileage may vary).
