Back when Florida Governor Ron DeSATAN was a congressman, he voted AGAINST relief for Superstorm Sandy that had ravaged those same Northeastern states to which he now wants to send lawful asylum applicants from Texas (not even his state).

How pathetic that now Governor DeSATAN has to go begging for more of that SOCIALIST WELFARE he always campaigns against, but which Florida always goes begging for when the predictable natural consequences of their rabid climate science denial come back to bite their low-lying coastal state. (His predecessor, Rick Scott, now Florida senator, banned any reference to climate change and fired state employees who violated his anti-science mandates.)

Ronald Reagan used racist stereotypes to rail against him imaginary “welfare queens,” but it turns out that the real ones are Republicans who demand brutal capitalism for the general public but generous corporate socialism for themselves.

During covid many refused to wear masks or get the shots. My body, my choice. And yet the same group want to control women’s bodies.

DeSantis will, of course, gratefully accept everything he can get, because socialism (which is exactly the same as communism. and fascism) doesn’t matter in the slightest when you are the one needing help.

Oh, and one of the things you will NOT hear from the Republican Party of Trump is “OMG, where will we get the money??”

Just wait until Desantis starts complaining that whatever the Federal government did, it wasn’t enough. He’ll turn this into a political moment. He’ll try to make his star rise, and damage the Democrats at the same time. He’s trash.

This is the whole story in a nutshell.

This is a truly great cartoon! Florida is a horrible microcosm of America. St. Pete and Orlando are liberal- even “progressive”. The mayors are well aware of climate change. Openly gay and mixed “race” couples are not rare. Meanwhile, The Northwest has inflicted Matt Gaetz on the nation. “DeSatan” won by a very thin margin. Val Demings and Charlie Crist must win if Florida is to avoid authoritarian idiocy. Never forget that it was Florida that made George W the first great disaster of the 21st Century!

Funny how that works isn’t it. But, just another example of republican hypocrisy.

And they are the first in line to put their hands out for disaster relief!! the minute they get it, they are back to being stereotypical anti government! betcha they’ll be crying to have their bridges rebuilt too!

The Republican party has been the party of corporate welfare for decades now. Sooner or later, people MIGHT figure out that voting for them is hurting their own interests. Maybe.

Every day* an agent of the federal government swings by your place on the off chance you want to send a birthday card to Grandma, and 2 days later and 2000 miles away, she’s reading it for ⅒ the price of the card itself. Socialism.

You can drive anywhere in America on public roadways.† Socialism.

You get seriously ill or injured, and good luck! Capitalism.
