Patches were the style in the 70s, it could come back.

I tell my nieces that I can fix the holes in their jeans so that you’d never know there had been a hole. They roll thier eyes and thier mom howls.

I heartily approve of young women wearing torn jeans. Of course, that’s just the dirty old man in me speaking.

Betty, you are a meddler with, I hate to say it, a bull in the china shop style. Why don’t you experiment with your own clothes?? Sheesh.

I have a fortune in old torn work jeans in my closet.

I hope she doesn’t quilt with that tiny machine!

Remove the patches and make a dunce cap for him instead.

Some of my students come to lessons wearing more holes than jeans.

Evidently.. it’s still fashionable. Never could understand why…

I wrote to Gary and Gerry recently about how Betty has changed into an unfunny, mean and bitter character. I got a response! Basically they said “Thanks for the email and concern. We realize that a lot of people don’t care for the recent characterization of Betty. However, we have a lot of Karens and fussbudgets that DO like this loathsome take on the character, and that’s what’s paying the bills. Rest assured, we do take the occasional pot shot at her (remember her yoga fridge arc?) and we laugh ourselves silly when she looks bad. Take care.”

There was a year when I could not find my safety pins and discovered the fashion was to have holes and lots of safety pins to close the hole!
