Bok, of course, is unable or unwilling to understand that this is rolling in over thirteen years with concomitant upgrades to infrastructure. Oh, and you can still keep your gas vehicle, drive it, sell it, give it to charity… it’s perfectly legal and usable. Of course you may have some trouble finding gasoline to buy, but that’s YOUR prerogative.

I find it marvelous that anybody believes anything he draws.

Nonsense…the demand for power will be evenly distributed, unlike air conditioning, throughout the year.

And a century ago across miles and miles of paved roads connivence store/gas stations dotted the landscape waiting for cars to become plentiful. Another fable for Chip to chew on.

I’ve always wondered what are they going to use to generate electricty. Wind, solar, coal, hydro, natural gas, oil or nuclear?

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom is asking all Californians to not charge their electric vehicles between the hours of 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. while California grapples with an energy shortage as a heat wave bears down on the state. California also asked its residents to turn up their thermostats and turn off their lights.” This is a quote from a NEWSNATION article posted on 8/31/2022.

I was listening to a story and someone in CA actually said “Well I believe they will build enough capacity and chargers for them.”

Chip, you are behind your time. ’toons like this were drawn when electricity was replacing gas lamps. It was silly then and its silly now.

This insightful comic brought to you by Chip “Get A Horse” Bok, High Priest of the “If God had wanted man to fly he’d have given him wings” Holy Temple.

Of course the only true insight you gain is just how backwards this Luddite truly is.

Welp, we have solar panels, home batteries and a Plug in Hybrid and a full electric. In the British Columbia winters we have had with that set up we have had no blackouts while others have. Even on cloudy days there is power generation. Chip is just being stupid, as usual.

There are more than 100 companies working on ways to make the grid stable when 25% of the grid is the wind and solar renewables. There are four basic categories of backup; mechanical, electrochemical, thermal and fuel cells. There are reasonable approaches for each. Several of the companies involved are already in production. What Bok should be worried about is the collapse in the price of oil when that backup capability is realized. His fear is founded on ignorance.

Sure Chip. And the reason telephones were never put into use is that there were no telephone lines strung astound the country at the time of the invention of their invention.

There will end up being no mandate on electric cars, just incentives to make them cost effective to drivers. The average commute in the USA to and from work is 41 miles, a range perfectly suited to electric vehicles. No oil changes, less overall maintenance and wear and tear on your transport machine. We could have been light years ahead of other countries on this if not for the backward progress starting with the Reagan administration. Electric cars are ideal for the average American lifestyle and will help us all prosper.

Bok, like all Trump Disciples, continues to LIE about EVERY issue.

    .

And, continues to avoid the blatant threats to America’s national security perpetrated by His Messiah.

Once again Chipped Bok is a safe landing zone for far rightwing luddites who are against any functional science research. There are MANY clean and renewable sources of energy, but republicans and their masters cannot figure out how to make a long term profit from them profit from them, including wind, wave, geothermal and solar

I wonder whether Californians even have the awareness to wonder how the rest of the world looks at them and their idiot governor when they say “No gasoline cars after 2035!”. And then in the very next breath, “But don’t you dare plug in your EV!”
