“Normal” people tend to go towards their friends especially if they haven’t seen each other for a long time. Republicans, on the other hand, have “new friends, MAGA friends” from whom they would rather run, fast, the other way.

One of the major advantages of a dark blue suit is it’s difficult for people to see you’ve wet yourself.

Hawley wanted the best of both worlds — to appear supportive of the Base and then survive to run again.

Typical bully and coward behavior. Now Hawley is fundraising, selling coffee mugs with his “fist pump”. Of course he’s not selling a mug showing him running like a scared puppy from the mob. The former Missouri senator who endorsed Hawley in his Senate election is making mea culpas, totally embarassed and disgusted by the actions of Hawley and what he represents.

A true scumbag, and a perfect GQP poster boy.

Just looking at some of the comments on this story in the NYTimes and the WaPo, I noticed that many of the commenters wanted to set the clip to music, but they are about evenly split between “Yakkety Sax” (theme from the Benny Hill show—never seen it, but I gather that it plays during chaotic scenes) and a version of the minstrel band that accompanies brave\\\\\ cowardly Sir Robin in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
