I am not know for being a “neat” person. But I can stick my hand in my dresser drawers and pull out what I need without looking – same with my closet.
He had his ties (used to wear one daily when working so he has a lot of them) hanging over a two lengths of rubber tubing each attached at each end to the closet door with a screw. One of the ends of tubing ripped (after decades of use) and he was going crazy trying to grab them and in a panic about what to do with them. They now reside on a hanger with a cross support in MY closet and those on the other tube joined them. He has not worked in his profession in close to 20 years. If we get invited to something that we need to dress up for once in 8 years it it a lot. But he can’t get rid of any of the ties and they have to stay in my closet now. (And we have SMALL closets with the ceiling of the staircase rising through the floor of my closet – his closet has instead the angle of the roof rising through it.)
