One of my favourite TV shows was produced in 1975 (the year of this strip) – The Adventures of Maya the Bee. It’s a Japanese animated series about a young female bee who has left her hive with the purpose of discovering the world. The series went on to be enormously popular in Europe in the 1980s, but I don’t know how well known it is in America. Here in England it is not well known at all.
What a waste of a summer. I stayed inside and finished a ridiculously long, tedious RPG that took over 150 hours to finally finish. I’d wanted to quit it a long time ago but was in so deep that I couldn’t turn back. Now that it’s finally over… I’ve never felt so alive…
Currently: There are only 2 network daytime game shows – The Price is Right (with Drew Carey) and Let’s Make a Deal (with Wayne Brady). The rest are syndicated – Family Feud (with Steve Harvey), You Bet Your Life (with Jay Leno), 25 Words or Less (with Merideth Vierra), Wheel of Fortune (with Pat and Vanna), and Jeopardy! (with alternating of Ken Jennings and Miyaim Bilack taking place since Alex Trebek passed away in 2020).
When I was her age, I could only get to page twelve of “War and Peace.” A few years ago, I tried it again, but got just a third of the way in this time before other books called.
Until eighth grade I never had a teacher who carred what we did during summer vacation. And after eight grade I never again had a teacher who cared what we did during summer vacation.

I wonder what game shows Sally would like? Match Game? The Price is Right. Let’s make a Deal?

I did that, too, when Name That Tune returned in 1974, and Jackpot was also on the air.

Talk about your best laid plans. Of the list, the vegetable garden would be the most rewarding.

I must be the only one that remembers “What’s My Line” and “I’ve Got A Secret.” Oh well just another ’I’m older than dirt day.’

I still haven’t read War and Peace. Someday I have to try to get back to it.

I always love the “How I Spent My Summer” comics. Probably because in school we never had to write or give an oral essay on How I Spent My Summer.

If she wants to know “War and Peace”, she could ask Snoopy to do his paw-pet show of it. He has read it, too.

Searching Bartok Quartets. I love learning something new from a 1975 Peanuts comic. Wasn’t really coherent in 1975 to I’m glad to have another chance.
