well, at least Alice had fun, right?

Even when I’m a grown up teenager and I’m being very, very bad, just remember…etc. Alice’s escape clause.

And thus ends the tale of the thistle.

Petey is now averse to everything—nature, food, picnics, etc. He should just remain inside a simple diorama for life, while Alice will go on to make life miserable for everyone outside that diorama.

Note that Alice knows there will be occasions when she will be “bad”.

Alice is assuming too much. Madeline’s statement about remembering (panel 3) was plainly ambiguous and could cut either way. Alice traumatized the First-born again.

Still, in the end, one must admit that Madeline loves her little four-year old terrorist….

I hope they already started a huuuuuge HSA fund for the Petey kid. Once he hits junior high there won’t be a day goes by that he won’t be getting his dweeby behind kicked.
