Is hyperpartisanship what the devious enemies of the United States of America are using with the aid of innuendo/disinformation/lies/conspiracy theories, to divide and weaken us from INSIDE the union?
Gorrell, All good except for panel 5 that should have read “Trump always tells the truth and acts in the best interests of the American people”….then it would have been spot on.
It’s interesting how immediately and wary the right-wing became about the Homeland Security’s ‘Disinformation Governance Board’, knowing that the only way to counter such a board will be to verify their empty declarations with substance, and also knowing that endangers everything they say or do.
“Disinformation board to tackle Russia, migrant smugglers” – so that included addressing one of the issues causing problems at the border + countering the RW jerks like Trump and Rand Paul and his Russia / Putin backing.
The exaggerations about this department are as false as the RW blaming inflation on Biden. There are many factors to the economy that are out of his hands. Started with supply-and-demand issues, worsened by too much of U.S. manufacturing and production sent to other countries and companies “investing” in their own stock after their tax cuts rather than building inventory during pandemic. Companies, especially oil companies, are posting record profits because they are using the bleating about inflation to raise their prices far more than they need to cover their costs. This causes other prices to increase because fuel costs affect everything else.
This is troubling to me. In the very short term it might help- at the edges with someone who could be persuaded by facts. Superposition has posted multiple times about how folks are most likely to dig their heels in unless new information comes from someone they trust.
In the longer term- the Rs will win another election at some point. What would this dept look like under them?
The virus would be listed as a hoax. Jade Helm-15 will (I’m looking into the future now) be listed as a Democratic attempt to overthrow the govt of TX- which will then be used to justify 1/6. Tan suits will have been illegal going back to the time of Jesus writing the constitution of the United States. Children killed in a mass shooting will have their official last words listed as “Only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun”.Every woman who gets raped will be officially listed as “having asked for it”. And since this is the Republicans- the age of consent will be set to 6.
Just because we CAN do something doesn’t mean we should.
Considering the flood of “1984” references will reading/sales of that book increase any? I hear it’s on any number of “banned book” lists for reasons, so good luck with that.
‘Reminds me of Juan Williams when he was the Liberal voice on The Five before he left in May ’21 — every time his co-commentators would bring up rising crime in the cities, he’d get a puzzled look on his face and say, “What rising crime rate? There is no rising crime…”
Of course the Q- and Trumpublicans are upset about this. When all you’ve got is making up lies and repeating them endlessly, it leaves them with no “platform.” Of course the left will get busted occasionally, but reality tends to favor the liberal point of view. Jewish space lasers and George Washington defending the airports during the revolution, not so much.
I didn’t think I’d see the day when Liberals were calling for a Government Censorship Department and claiming that anyone who sees freedom of speech issues is a liar.
yep…and tRump never grabbed any pu$$ys…did’nt have sex with a porn star when his wife was pregnant…never sexually harassed over 22 women…never walked into ladies changing rooms at beauty pagents…. always paid his fair share of taxes…never told a lie…really had bone spurs to keep him out of the army….and never held a grudge….oh yea…and is naturally colored orange…..
“A newly formed Disinformation Governance Board announced Wednesday will immediately begin focusing on misinformation aimed at migrants, a problem that has helped to fuel sudden surges at the U.S. southern border in recent years. Human smugglers often spread misinformation around border policies to drum up business.”

if you think people fleeing violence in Central and South America is bad now, just wait until people have to flee the effects of climate change.
If inflation is so bad, why are giant corporations making record profits?
how many cartoons have you done calling for people to look into the corruption of Trump’s kids and son-in-law?

If it’s really 1984, shouldn’t Regan be president? If so, why is Bob Gorrell blaming Hunter Biden for everything?

You know, all these statement from panel three onward are largely correct, from a particular point of view. Taken generally, they all make sense.

^No. Projection is accusing someone else of exhibiting your bad psychological traits and problems.
