It depends on the roller it is on, is it flush with the wall or attached to it. The real determining factor is does the cat like pulling the entire roll of paper off or not.

Who says we have to agree? The problem is that too many people think they should be able to tell everyone else what to do.

Some can’t even decide which side to wipe with.

I leave the roll on the sink since it’s easier to reach and I’m too lazy to put it on the roller…

T.P. should be obsolete (save the trees) and install bidets in all bath/washrooms.

Careful … someone may try to pass a law or make a mandate.

actually there is a right way. the patent for the toilet paper holder says it should go over the top, so all of you going behind-you got it wrong.

Sure there’s right and wrong, but mostly there’s just a whole lot of different. Different is fine but too many folks get stupid and judgey (and scared) when disagreed with.

I’m in the minority that prefer it under. I regret nothing.

If Montgomery Ward and Sears and Roebuck still sent out catalogues this wouldn’t be a problem.

To agree, or not to agree: that is the question. Or, who gives a rat’s ass whether you agree or not. Just so long as what I agree to isn’t branded the work of an idiot. We must go back to the days when other opinions were at least tolerated, and not cast out as so much idiocy.

My friend Dave met his wife Arlene when they were both members of the same Obsessive Compulsive Disorder therapy group.

For the most part, they have a normal marriage, except when it comes to toilet paper. He likes the hanging end up against the wall, but she likes it outward, easier to reach.

Each time either one of them uses the washroom the roll gets turned around, according to the obsession of the user.

The psychiatry profession has a term for this: roll reversal.

No need to argue. The 1891 US Patent for toilet paper clearly shows what the inventor thought was the correct way.

Stop being so anal about toilet paper.

The issue is resolved: the paper comes up over the top and down the front. That’s how it was drawn in the original patent. Those who neglect history should be arrested! Or not allowed to use toilet paper . . .

Even days – over. Odd days – under. February 29 (it’s only once every four years) – optional. There. Problem solved. Now for the real dilemma; should paper towels be on a mounted horizontal rack or on a vertical post?

cats and curious kiddos prefer the over, so much fun spinning that roll, parents have so much fun rewinding :D

Over is correct, but my wife and I never fight about it. If she puts in a roll and it’s under, I just turn it around without comment. She never notices. She has bigger things to worry about; I’m the professional fuss-budget. Maybe that’s why we get along as well as we do.

A very large majority say “over”. Sadly, it was never enacted into law.
