That’s exactly as smart as voting against school funding because you’ve already graduated. Or voting against funding emergency services because you’ve never needed them.

It’s sort of like pretending that (1) we’re not actually a global economy and (2) that economy needs — but doesn’t quite have — rules and regulations that everyone can agree are fair, honest, and mutually beneficial.

Several posters have used Twitter as a source for their “proof”. While this can be useful when quoting a tweeter if you are accessing their feed directly, there are so many times that the initial post gets misquoted (twisted until it is unrecognizable) and this will only get worse.

Here is a recent example of a conspiracy theory spreading on Twitter and Facebook assisted by Tucker. Politifact has already debunked this, but the re-tweets and multiple posts on FB are still everywhere.

Twitter is already a combination of information stream and hate-filled cesspool. If the latter triumphs over the former, many will leave and a new alternative will emerge—one far more successful than the Truth Social joke.

If Musk removes all restrictions then Twitter will devolve into a mess of spam, porn and disinformation the way Usenet did once the general public was unleashed on the internet. Only this will be much worse now with so many more idiots on the net.

Trump Says Under Oath He’s Terrified ‘Dangerous’ Fruit Will Be Flung at Him at Rallies

One of the rallies that came up was the one where Trump told his audience to “knock the crap out” of any protesters who seemed like they were going to throw a tomato at him, saying “I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.” Asked if that was his statement, Trump answered “Oh yeah. It was very dangerous.”

“What was very dangerous?” Dictor asked.

    “We were threatened,” said Trump

    “With what?” Dictor asked again.

“They were going to throw fruit,” said Trump. “We were threatened. We had a threat.”

    …It got weirder, per Insider:

The lawyer followed up: “How did you become aware that there was a threat that people were going to throw fruit?”

Trump answered, “We were told. I thought Secret Service was involved in that, actually. But we were told. And you get hit with fruit, it’s — no, it’s very violent stuff. We were on alert for that.”

Here the lawyer clarified the record.

“A tomato is a fruit after all, I guess,” he asked the former president.

“And you know what–” Trump continued.

But he was quickly interrupted, the transcript shows. The lawyers held a brief side discussion on tomatoes. Were they fruit? Or vegetables?

“It has seeds,” offered attorney Jeffrey L. Goldman, there to represent Trump’s campaign, also a defendant in the lawsuit.

    Trump broke in.

“It’s worse than tomato. It’s other things also,” he said, according to the transcript.

Lauren Boebert involved in ‘beginning stages’ of White House Jan. 6 planning, ex-aide says

    https://www.rawstory.com/2657224646/

Boebert, who’s now a Republican candidate for Congress, never showed up for her court hearing on October 5, 2016, according to records obtained by the Colorado Times Recorder from Colorado’s 9th Judicial District. This led a Garfield County judge to issue a warrant for Boebert’s arrest for failing to appear in court.

When she failed to show up for court a month later, a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was booked on Feb. 13, 2017. She ultimately pleaded guilty.

In September 2010, Boebert was arrested after a neighbor, Michele Soet, accused Boebert’s two pit bulls of attacking Soet’s dog. Soet’s dog narrowly escaped injury after jumping into a van. The future legislator pleaded guilty to a single count of “dog at large,” paying a $75 fine.

Back in June 2015, Boebert was cuffed for disorderly conduct at a country music festival near Grand Junction, Colo., after police said she attempted to interfere in the arrest of minors busted for underage drinking and encouraged the accused to run off.

Around 9 p.m. on June 20, 2015, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies noticed that Boebert, then 28, was shouting at several people detained at a command post who’d been arrested on suspicion of underage drinking at the festival, according to two deputy statements. A sergeant “had to physically push her backwards” as Boebert ran into the command post, one deputy wrote. She was yelling “something to the affect (sic) of ‘they didn’t read you your Miranda Rights so that is an illegal detention,’” according to the statement. Boebert was “trying to get subjects to leave the custody of law enforcement,” another deputy wrote. “Lauren continued yelling and causing the underage drinkers to become unruly,” the first statement reported. “Lauren’s behavior was becoming likely to cause a disorderly response from those in the area attending the concert.”
