So Duke actually remembers people from his past, however vaguely.

Duke will pop ANY drug, won’t he?

Oh well, at least this story arc is segueing away from Trump—for now, that is!!

I seldom read Doonesbury when the Duke is present, but I made an exception today. And boy I’m glad I did. Two great lines, “This isn’t fair, I’m not stoned.” and “Antibiotics, what a winter that was.” One rarely gets to see the Duke knocked for a loop, so this is one time I’ll always savor.

Sort of brings a “there but for the grace of God, go I” reality to the situation, doesn’t it?

Elmont having concealed/covered eyes marks him as a “morally ambiguous” character, like Zeke, Havoc, Clyde, Honey, and others — at least as far back as Howie at Joanie’s day care — that GBT draws with that trait. Since we can’t see their eyes, they exist between wide-eyed innocence (like Boopsie’s) and narrow-eyed cynicism (like B.D.‘s). In Elmont’s case, this may be due to his mental illness.

And to think… Trump warned him against this idea.

And now he’ll get caught up in Elmont and Alice’s drama long enough for Trump to solve the problem without him — perhaps for Earl to solve the problem — meaning that Trump won’t need to pay him and that no one cheated Duke in this arc but himself.

    That’s just a guess, btw, not a spoiler. :-)

Off topic again today: Yesterday I advocated getting rid of our semi-annual fit of clock-changing insanity. Today I discovered there’s a ray of hope: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-senate-approves-bill-that-would-make-daylight-savings-time-permanent-2023-2022-03-15/

Upon encountering the above article, I was immediately reminded of this: https://youtu.be/BBZ7AfZR9xs
