It’s a sad statement that in the U.S. active shooter drills are necessary. The repugnant republicans would rather have parents be concerned about anything else than that fact.

Immature people seem to lack perspective … ‘Deaths-by-Gun and Opioid Addiction’ lack critical attention….

Why do we need sensible gun laws when we have a rickety desk to stop the bullet? And Republicans are worried about Critical Race Theory.

right, these GQP loving parents are concerned their kid have to wear a mask in school but if someone wants to take an A45 into school and murder them, that’s fine

Yep one or the other. Just like when we looked away from the flash while hiding under our desks. It is all political theater designed to promote Fear. All three worries accomplish nothing.

why can’t this be a situation of “both / and” Yes, it is sad and frustrating that kids have to drill for active shooters but that doesn’t take away from the fact that mask are not good for the psychological development of children under 10.

So do thousands of behavioral scientists. Constantly wearing masks harms the emotional development of young children because they are unable to see facial expressions. Critical visual clues normally ingrained at a very young age.

As for the shooter drills, you need to ask your local politicians why they continue to refuse the common sense security measures recommended since Columbine. Ranting about gun control is very cute and gets idiots to vote for you but does NOTHING to solve the problem.

We need to follow the recommendations security experts have pushed for decades. Limited access. Metal detectors. In school armed security with at least the minimum recommended per thousand students.

Every single indoor school shooting in the last 20-30 years could have been prevented or at least limited by the use of walk through metal detectors with an armed officer at the door. It really IS that simple. Anyone who claims otherwise is playing politics with the lives of our children.
