She made you feel hollow as a human being, a nothing, worthless and utterly lame to mankind…..

Yes i am. I suspect many of us are right now.

…I used to work at a food distribution warehouse…

…you still need to be in one more package to meet the industry standard…

…a bag inside of a box inside of a cardboard carton…

…and things still break …

…it all appears so random, though…

…how things break…

…have you ever seen the pallet at a grocery store piled high with goods and wrapped with Saran Wrap?…

…that’s what I did…

… I would pull my double pallet jack and build two loads…

…one on each pallet…

…my style…

…the way most pickers did it…

…was to build one load with standard size items that fit nicely together…

…and the other…

…more dangerously thrown haphazardly together…

…I called them…

… my Isaac and Ishmael…

…my Jacob and my Esau…

… l couldn’t have the one without the other…

…the implications were mind blowing…

…suddenly, my ideas of perfection, love, creation, joy, pain were shattered and recreated…

…in a world where a box inside of a box inside of a box could still be broken…

…not only did these fragile packages still have value…

…but they were very necessary…

…and beautiful in the grand scheme of life…

Put all your troubles in your old kit bag and smile, smile, smile.

It’s hard when the Matryoshka dolls on the inside are broken into pieces. And then the outside one breaks down, too.

I’m bewitched, bothered, and bewildered … bereft of beauty but beggared for love.
