I once walked out on bare ice barefoot at -10 degrees F. I’m old enough to know better now.

There’s something about boys and young men being impervious to cold. I met a woman once who said her teenage son could sleep in a snowbank. And last week I saw a guy in his 20s walking around in 30°F weather in shorts and a t-shirt.

At a camp in the Adirondacks we would walk through a light covering of snow in bare feet to get to the outhouse..!

We used to take the garbage barefoot out to the road, bare feet, dead of winter. It was more a double dog dare type situation though.

Our mailman wears shorts all winter. He says it is practical, because once pants get wet with snow, they are wet and cold all day.

You better hurry. Plus, you are use to barefeet in the summer.
