I remember my Dad’s chagrin when he was able to claim a senior discount for both his children as well as himself.

When I was in junior high, I used to babysit my little cousins. Not only do they all qualify for AARP but all but one qualify for their S.S. Retirement Pensions!

I had the same reaction the first time I had a student who was the child of a former student.

I’m not sure which is worse – seeing your kids hid retirement age or frequently burying your former classmates.

Burying your child is the absolute worst.

I once asked a woman whose grandson had just become a father how she felt about being a great-grandmother. She said that was fine, but it was harder to accept that her daughter was now a grandmother!

I get that same feeling when I see kids I babysat as a 12 year old are having kids. And a couple of their babies have kids!

I am most grateful for my S.S. and pension. Especially after hearing how so many had trouble receiving their unemployment benefits during the pandemic. That is ONE advantage of being a senior citizen. Thanx, FDR 1935.

My mother and sister were teachers and got a kick out of seeing students years after having them in class. I have enjoyed seeing scouts in a troop I was involved with graduate college and marry and become parents. Nor retirees yet!
