In the second panel I thought of a great comment. In the fourth panel it was shot down in flames.

Reminds me of that episode of “Xena: Warrior Princess” where Gabrielle was secretly given a magical pen that would cause anything she wrote with it to come true. Wondering why, against all logic, Joxer had been in her bed that morning, she opened up her journal to see the line “Gabrielle awoke with a jerk”.

Pillows are a major cause of neck pain while sleeping or when waking up. GENERALLY, stomach sleepers should use a thiner pillow for head, neck, back alignment, back sleepers need some more lift, and side sleepers need a thicker pillow (which is why so many sleep with their arm under their pillow as they are trying to get lift).

That said, I have seen a lady who was a side sleeper go for a thinner pillow as she had narrow shoulders and frame.

Have somebody look at you and see how your head, neck and back line up.

BTW, how you wake up in the morning is how you have spent most of your night (not all).

Opal never feels guilty when it comes to .Earl! The more mishaps that befall him, the better her revenge feelings are. Cackle

If you want to try something new, try sleeping without a pillow for a night and see how your neck feels. You may find that your shoulders feel better, too. You may even wake up to find that your head has been slightly hang off the edge of the bed. Headrests (especially on recliners in front of the TV) push your head and shoulders forward. Big mistake!!! You will turn into a hunchback. Your head and shoulders want to lay flat at night. Try it.

I used to wake up with “kricks” quite often until I got a “Poly-Fill” type pillow, but it definitely was not a “My Pillow” pillow… ☺

A new pillow will ALWAYS cause you neck problems for about a week until it figures you out.

Her teen grand daughter may tell her a neat thing to do with a big hard pillow. Kind of like Aubrey Plaza and her pillow in “The To Do List.”
