Ramirez doesn’t change. Toss out RW tropes until something sticks. It never does. Factually, the GOP is the group on the road to extinction and they know it, which is why they are pulling out all the stops to try and maintain their dwindling hold on power through gerrymandering, disenfranchisement, and praying the judges the last occupant put in help them.
Marxist Disciple Democrats aren’t ever sorry for the LIES that they say, even when they know that each Marxist Disciple Democrat is being an ass. HeeHaw, HeeeHaww
That’s hilarious! The right elects a fascist dictator wannabe, pampers the wealthy with tax cuts, screws the blue collar worker over time and again (and somehow gets them to thank them for it), inspires an insurrection, destroys democracy daily, and is so close to party-fracture that you need white supremacists and Nazis to survive and you think the left is near extinction?
The right hasn’t won a majority of votes in a presidential election in the 21st century. Keep dreaming.
I would expect this to be Mikes take on the current state of the Dem party. But, being more extreme progressive is something many of us Dems have hoped and longed for. And, I suspect, when the proper poll is used, the US population would be right in with a pro=progressive way of thinking. Afterall, a clear majority of our citizenry supports a woman’s right to choose.
I call myself radical because I try to get to the root of a problem rather than being content with half-measures and bandaid solutions. Reform usually improves things just enough to allow the status quo to stay in power, but it does nothing about the real problem. Too often the left has sold its birthright for a mess of pottage.
Conservatism is the by-product of fear. Liberalism is the by-product of optimism. Fear has the most robust foothold where learning is limited, xenophobia is present, and emotion rules the response. You can see the “fear” in posts and responses that are thrown around.
The exception to the conservatism/fear interconnection is power and control. There are those who realize they can consolidate power and rule through the use of fear. At least in this one particular area, they are smart enough to understand this association and exploit it.
The last President told us in his own frightening inauguration words (American carnage) that he was going to consolidate power and rule through fear. Fortunately, there were enough optimistic votes to limit this mountebank to one term.
While I HALF agree with Ramirez on this one (OMG! Has it come to this?), I also wish for the quick extinction of the Ultra-Right, which I consider far mor dangerous than the Radical Left.
I like that Ramirez copied the image of the dinosaur-let still in the egg that was recently discovered. But he’s sure projecting HARD about which part of the political spectrum is on the road to extinction. Or lying…
“Radical left” is not a thing. Most of it is center-left. We did all that in the 30’s, 40’s 50’s and 60’s. The “rads” are on the right. Calling for the deaths of “dems”.

The “radical” left wants to help people.
The radical right wants to destroy democracy.
No comparison.

The fanciful far left is falling out of fashion. Time for the media to focus on the boring but competent establishment Democrats.

In Europe, our “radical left” would be considered “Christian Democrats.”

If we had a real radical left, the argument would be whether to put the rich up against the wall, now, or save them as an emergency calorie reserve.
