When POTUS went to see the devasted areas he asked the reThuglican members of congress from KY to accompany him in a show of unity (which the reThuglicans have been asking for and even dmanding after the insurrection, getting, and yet not ever taking up their chances to reciprocate). Here again they bailed on a chance to show unity during a time of crisis. Only Comey went with the president.

No sign of Rabid Rand Paul.

No sign of Noscow Mitch McConnell.

They and their ilk abandoned their constituents during the hardest days of their lives to continue to obsfuscate, stonewall, and to just plain spite any chance of cooperation yet again. Their petty little egos overshadowed even the direst needs of those who voted for them.

This POTUS didn’t make any empty promise of blue tarps and clapped out FEMA trailers, or sarcastically throw rolls of paper towels like some demagogue who is actually a member of the “let the peasants eat cake if there is no bread” aristocratic oligarchy. He literally embraced the victims. That’s something the Rump never has or ever will do, not matter how many sycophants he has.

This will always be the way. Those states that provide most of the income will continue to help those states that consume more than they contribute. Those “taker” states will continue to verbally abuse the “giver” states even as they take their money.

Kentucky has better. If you don’t like Rand Paul support Charles Booker. 2022 could be the year Kentucky rids itself of Paul. But to be honest we’re going to need help doing it.

    ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE!!!

AND, remember, he could NOT be accredited as an Ophthalmologist by the American Board of Ophthalmology… so he CREATED HIS OWN!!

“Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Paul attended Baylor University and is a graduate of the Duke University School of Medicine. Paul began practicing ophthalmology in 1993 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In 2003 he withdrew from the American Board of Ophthalmology and declared himself self-certified by his National Board of Ophthalmology.”

In 1995, Paul was certified to practice by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). Three years earlier, the ABO had changed its certification program, which previously awarded lifetime certifications, and required ophthalmologists to recertify every 10 years, while those who had already been given lifetime certification were not required to recertify. Paul felt this was unfair and began an aggressive campaign to have all ophthalmologists recertify every ten years. In 1997 he set up the National Board of Ophthalmology (NBO) to offer an alternative certification system, at a cost substantially lower than that of the ABO. Its certification exam, which Paul completed for his own certification, was an open book take-home test that Paul helped write. Paul appointed exclusively his own family members to the board of directors and registered the Board to an incorrect address.

Named board members were Paul, his wife, and his father-in-law. His father-in-law, the board’s nominal secretary, stated “I never did go to any meetings … There was really nothing involved. It was more just a title than anything else, for me”. The NBO was, itself, never accepted as an accrediting entity by organizations such as the American Board of Medical Specialties, and its certification was considered invalid by many hospitals and insurance companies.

Even the right wing Washington Examiner reports: Kentucky receives $2.15 in federal money for every dollar of taxes paid. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, 35% of the state’s total revenues came from the federal government, and next year the state projects a 5% dip in revenue.

“Kentucky is one of the most federally dependent states in the nation,” Doug Mines, head of data analytics at MoneyGeek, said. “Additionally, the state government receives 35% of its revenues from the federal government while that national average is 26%. That’s 35% more funding than average.”

The Washington Examiner is owned by Clarity Media Group, which is owned by Philip Anschutz, an American billionaire entrepreneur who describes himself as a “conservative Christian.” Anschutz is also the owner of the right-leaning Weekly Standard and has donated millions of dollars to right-leaning causes, including anti-LGBT groups, such as the Family Research Council, which has been labeled a hate group. The Washington Examiner is funded through an advertising and subscription model. – Media Bias

In some ways I feel sorry for Rand Paul. After all, his father (a dishonest cowardly racist piece of walking manure) named him after a sociopath—and he did it on PURPOSE! This, however, does NOT excuse Rand Paul’s lack of honesty, integrity, patriotism, and common sense.

He is one of those freaks that believe in a “balanced budget” amendment to the Constitution. Never thinking about what it means in case of disaster. Has been trying for years to make it work for other States with no thought of what it would mean to his. His chickens are coming home to roost now.

Don’t “give” the states a dime. Send in aid in whatever form is required and fund it completely. If they need food, send in people who handle the food supply chain. Medical? Doctors, nurses, therapists, and any supplies they need. Rebuilding? Vetted contractors with all of the materials they need. Do NOT let the politicians pull a financial fast one.
