For a fleeting moment, I thought Calvin was wearing a mask, not a scarf over his mouth!

Yesterday Mom threatened to send Calvin off to Siberia if he touched the thermostat, nice that she remembered that they have a fireplace.

And mom gets a hot cup of hot cocoa ready ( with little marshmallows ). She really is a good mom

I’m with Hobbes. Stay in, stay warm, stay comfy. Gimme a book and I’m set for the day.

It’s ironic but what a difference a day makes. Yesterday, his mom wasn’t too concerned about Calvin being freezing cold. In fact she actually ordered Calvin to stay cold and not turn the thermostat up!

Surprising that Mom isn’t yelling at Calvin for tracking snow inside the house.

I am “some people”.

Our cats used to sit so close to the fireplace that their fur smoked. :D

They’re both right. A warm seat by the fireplace with a full belly and a good drink is winning the war against winter. …some folks aren’t doing that.

In a house I had long ago, there was a wood burning fireplace. One of the dogs and a cat would see me carrying in firewood and race over to park themselves right in front to hog the best spots.

Because school and work won’t come to you, Calvin? In those days, nothing was virtual.

Traditionally, you go outside first to GET MORE WOOD! :)

that gives you more of a reason to sit by the fire…..a nice hot cup of cocoa with marshmallows would really be great also.

And then mom brings hot chocolate and a cookie. Heaven!

Hobbes makes an awesome beanbag chair.

didn’t he once do a similar strip but it was about people who don’t have a place to go to get in out of the cold?

Fresh air and sunshine keeps us healthy. Staying indoors and breathing the same stale air is what gets us sick.
