Not only are governors in Fl Louisiana and one other backwards southern state, blocking vaccinations and masks, they are covering the lost wages, with state taxes, of anyone fired or laid off for refusing to be vaccinated. Remember this summer when same governors were blaming the shortage of workers for $7.25 jobs on Biden’s extension of unemployment insurance?

I laughed at that last panel; yep, they’re that warped. But COVID isn’t really surging in the U.S. There was a rise in daily new cases, which leveled off and has started to drop, whle daily deaths continue to decline.

Due to COVID-19, we currently go thru that many in just under 3 days, and we’ve been doing that since January of 2020, when the president’s daily brief “concluded [coronavirus] could be a cataclysmic event.”
