One time, years ago, I let my dog out, and she saw a skunk in our yard and made a dash for it. I yelled STOP! and she did, thankfully! Most of my dogs are very obedient.
My current girl loves car rides. I had taken her with me, and when I got home, I had to pull the other car in off the road. I told her “Up on the porch!” and she went. As I walked to my car, my annoying neighbor came over. We were talking, when suddenly he saw my dog and went “AHH! Your dog is out!” He says “What’s she doing?” And I’m like “She’s waiting where I told her to.” He was like “How do you get your dogs to behave like that?” And I’m like, “Training. Discipline. Rewards. You should try it with your kids!” Later he got a new dog, and it was a puppy. He said “I’ve never had a dog from a puppy before.” and I was like, “Well good. Now you can train this one so it’s not a pain.” He says “Oh, it’s too young to train.” I’m like, “NOW is when you start!” Now that dog is vicious and obnoxious, and the wife has to sit there and plead for it to come inside. Sad.

And it’s a good thing for you too, Phil…I can imagine how long it would take to wash Marm and get the skunk smell off of him!

Imagine how unpopular some poor dog would be if his coloring was in that pattern…
