Greg Abbott’s lie that he will simply stop all rapes follows in the worst traditions of his idol, Donald Trump.

Perhaps he might begin to have just the slightest smidgen of credibility if he would actually start testing the 6,000+ untested rape kits already gathering dust on the shelves of Texas crime labs, or if his budget including even a token amount of funding to actually do something about aggressive rape prevention.

No, the tragic reality for women in Texas is that Abbott and the Texas Talibangelists of the Caliphate of Gilead actually have EXACTLY THE SAME MENTALITY AS THE RAPISTS: they believe THEY have the right to dictate control of the most private parts of women’s bodies.

Yeah. Something like 68% of all rapes are done by a person known to the victim. More for the younger victims.

It is a given that the solution is multi-faceted. One of the missing elements is a legal regulated controlled environment for sex workers. Despite the prevailing myths there are those who like that type of work and are good at it.

We know that the Church Lady, impotent old men and organized crime will never permit that to occur. There is power to be used and money to be made with “morality laws”. Plus many people might not make stupid mistakes when seeking viable healthy relationships and use rational thought to get there.

Since he’s clearly able to stop rape today, why not do the same for illegal guns tomorrow? and then illegal drugs the next day? Heck, he can probably even stop lying politicians…

If this “trick” works for a right that has been validated by the supreme court, we need democratic states to use the same trick to ban all guns other than water pistols. See how quickly the supreme changes direction.

My first husband – AKA The Late and Unlamented – swore that rape was impossible if the woman fought back. He also had to weird idea that a woman wearing slacks was more vulnerable to rape than if she had on a skirt.

Remember, he died a natural death.

Demi Rice commenting below, says her ex-husband believed that rape was impossible if the woman fought back. I have known men and women both who believed that. Since rape is not about sex, but dominance and violent attacks on women, how is “fighting back” going to work?

If someone tries to rape someone else, the intended victim should just say no. Then shoot the perpetrator between their legs. If that doesn’t stop the perpetrator, shoot him/her in the head. Problem solved.

The subjugation of women. No getting around it. Time to think of the next move after getting rid of a woman’s right to choose. What would the Taliban suggest?

There isn’t an exception for incest in the new Texas law, either. I suppose it would be rude to wonder if some of those who passed this insanity are products of exactly that…..

A former candidate for the US Senate from Missouri claimed that women couldn’t get pregnant if it was “legitimate rape.” Naturally, he lost the election to Claire McCaskill. So, it seemed like sanity prevailed, right? Unfortunately, next time around, Josh Hawley (along with Rafael Cruz, second only to Traitor Trump himself for inciting the mob of traitors January 6th—per conservative icon George F. Will) won her seat. So sanity apparently has an expiration date….

    From claytoonz.com:

“There are about 18,000 REPORTED rapes in Texas every year. And why would you report a rape if the state isn’t going to take it seriously? At this very moment, there are over 5,000 rape kits in Texas waiting to be tested.

What untested rape kits mean is that there are 5,000 rapes in Texas being ignored. Nobody’s prosecuting or even trying to find the rapists. Hey, Greg Abbott, don’t you have to find the rapists before you can get rid of them?"

Was that an unforced error or just total, gibbering stupidity? “Getting rapists off the streets” would fix the unwanted pregnancy problem?? (Enlighten me: what percentage of rapes occur on a sidewalk? Just asking.) At least he doesn’t seemingly subscribe to the gibbering stupidity that holds that pregnancy “can’t” result from a rape. . . .

More wisdom from the Mole People.
