Everyone should start accusing and suing the female republicans and the male republicans, who supported that law, of having or abetting in the act of abortions. No evidence needed, just the accusation alone is enough to tie them up in the courts.
Thanks, Clay, fell off the couch laughing at the guy’s outfit. But you left out the 6 inch belt buckle with his name on it. A sippy cup would have been nice, I miss them since Herr Gropingfuror was evicted from office.
A real Texan would simply shoot the child as a lesson to her “abortion seeking Oklahoma rooting MSNBC watching devil-worshipping pumpkin spice swilling recycling liberal commie” parents! Probably at the school bus stop, at the school itself, or at the local Walmart. /S
Just imagine how many more guns they can buy with $10,000. If you had dibs on a few selected floozies.. could you use that as collateral for, say an armored vehicle. Asking for a friend..
The Texas governor is going to solve everything. He’s going after the rapists and eliminating all rapists so there will be no need for abortions for rape. He will hunt them down in the streets and prosecute them. Sound like a plan??? Unfortunately, most rapists are not running around on the streets. I’ve heard some wild things said by these governors, but that is one of the more outrageous (to put it nicely).
~ 30% or so of reliable local/state/national GOP voters are single-issue anti-abortion Christian zealots. Many — maybe most — of them refused to participate in “worldly” nasty ol’ politics until the latter ’70’s, when Republicans were grasping for every vote they could get to make up for party losses following Watergate/the Nixon resignation.
That’s when US conservatism reached out to conservative Christianity (the people Barry Goldwater — who was totally wrong about literally everything else — vehemently warned against), first in ‘78 with the formation of the self-described Moral Majority(sic), then for Reagan’s second election when the outlook was looking grim a sudden focus on, and deliberately manufactured demonization of, abortion. “Purity” was GOP establishment promotion designed to appeal to these specific Christians.
The abortion issue has been spectacularly successful. Republicans have been able to pursue Libertarian political goals of reducing/demonizing government, and concomitant popular services for the population as a whole, while able to rely upon voters these policies directly harm because they are able only to focus on abortion.
Removing that focus on abortion with Texas, or especially Louisiana policy, will satisfy those far right religious Republicans. Some GOP strategists are aware of this, and for a decade have been trying to elevate Christian nationalism to the same level as anti-abortion “purity” — not entirely without success. In fact, with considerable success.
Some of those Christian fundie voters, though, are likely to return to strict avoidance of “worldly” political involvement if they think new Tx and La legislation relieves them of participating to end abortion — whether the legislation is actually effective or not. These folks nurture lots of current events blindness, and are more often than not oblivious to reality.
The GOP may be in the process of hoisting with own petard.

It’s going to be a right mess. For FAR too long. Though I can hope that they’ve finally gone so far they’ll lose votes.

In revolutionary France a tattle could lead to the guillotine.
In Nazi Germany, children were taught to inform on their parents.
In Stalin’s USSR, a tip would bring one to Lubyanka.
In the 1950s Americans whisper campaigns destroyed careers and lives.
In Texas the past is the future.

I wonder what the statute of limitations is on “reporting” people who aided and abetted abortions. Traitor Trump might do well to keep out of Texas…..
