It’s actually a “non-stop BS talking points from cultservative minions like Mike Ramirez” problem.

Police shouldn’t have to do animal control and social work and mental health work, they should just do police work. Also, they shouldn’t have ANY military gear. Period.

The two top equations are a flat lie, IF you happen to think that the attacks by police on people of color are crimes.

PS: The religion of the Second Amendment is a big piece of this pie too. But fat chance o’ Ramirez mentioning it.

Of course, it has never been a question of less or more police, but BETTER police. If the police stopped acting like entitled criminals, things might actually work the way they are supposed to. But as long as one cop covers for another like “omerta” for the Mafia, police lie on the stand and falsify evidence, and think that they have any and all rights without any need for controls – we will have major problems. One minor example: a Toronto kid always wanted to be a cop and “do good”. He grows up, becomes a cop, and as a new rookie he sees a car speeding and stops it; as he approaches to give the driver a ticket, the driver says “I’m on the force.” The rookie replies: “I don’t care. You were speeding; here’s your ticket.” The next day not a single cop on the force would say a word to him unless absolutely necessary. After weeks of this, it became necessary to transfer the rookie to another city! Why? Because the typical attitude of cops is that laws are for everyone else – THEY have carte blanche to do whatever without sanction. HOW DARE another cop expect them to follow the law?

Militarized police don’t prevent crime. They enforce laws that were already broken.

And no law ever prevented a crime.

It’s not a “gun” problem. The vast majority of gun owners are law abiding citizens. It’s the fact that criminals don’t obey laws. Chicago has both the strictest gun laws in the country, yet also has the highest murder rate. There is a segment of society that doesn’t value someone else’s life, liberty, and their right to pursue happiness.

So Mike believes people think like this….

“I noticed fewer police in my neighborhood, I guess it’s safe to go on a crime spree!”

    Ramirez: You have it wrong.

More jobs, better paying jobs, mean less crime.

No one wants to live a life of crime, simply because it’s easier.

For years Republicans have been defunding schools, and we get poorly educated graduates. Poorly educated graduates get poor paying jobs. Those without good paying jobs get desperate. The desperate make bad choices and, I’m sorry, commit crimes.

And they don’t count police cars on patrol before they do it.

Thankfully the “defund the police” candidate Maya Wiley came in 3rd place for the recent Mayoral primary in NYC. Urban Democrats are not buying into ‘less police is better’ message. The top two candidates Eric Adams and Kathryn Garcia made reducing violent crime a top priority during their campaigns which resonated with the Democratic voters.

    A few things worth mentioning:

    1) By definition, one is a criminal if one is convicted of a crime. More police will therefore produce more criminals, since more will be caught.

    2) Not all crimes are equal. Going just by raw numbers of “crimes”, it can appear that things are getting much worse — even if the rise is entirely in petty crime.

    3) Petty crime is much easier to catch and prosecute. Consequently, it would not be difficult to game the metrics by, for instance, cracking down hard on petty crimes.

    4) Very few cities have any a significant change to their policing policies. There’s been a lot of talk about it, but very little actual change. It’s disingenuous to suggest a causal relationship between reducing police forces and increasing crime, especially when absolutely nothing else about 2020 was normal. Pandemic? Global recession? High unemployment? Crushing heat waves? Political collapse in many countries? Unprecedented levels of human migration? None of that could be a factor?

    5) It’s fair to be afraid of emboldening criminals — but the problem is that our penalties for even minor crimes now are so severe that criminals have nothing left to lose. If you face 40 years in jail for cocaine possession, then why stop at cocaine possession? Especially if, when you eventually get paroled, you find you cannot get work.

Mr. Ramirez is correct, the Democrats inability to grasp just that is in fact stupidity or maybe he is to kind to say ignorance. No matter what word you choose to describe it, crimes and violence will continue to rise as long as the present administration is in office and its party controls some States and there larger cities.

The Fox News anchor Chris Wallace made headlines of his own by pointing out to a senior Republican that he and the rest of his party recently voted against $350bn in funding for law enforcement.

“Can’t you make the argument that it’s you and the Republicans who are defunding the police?” Wallace asked Jim Banks, the head of the House Republican study committee.

How Congressional Republicans Maneuver Against Funding The Capitol Police For

A highly complex series of maneuvers is occurring in the Congress about the little-known “legislative branch appropriation” which funds operations on Capitol Hill, including the Capitol Police. The issues come from the January 6 insurrection. Congressional Republicans are attempting to hold hostage vital funding for the Capitol Police, by resisting supplemental (extra) funds relating to that day. Congressional Democrats are trying to free up the vitally needed funds to pay the overtime for the police, as well as other funds for hardening the Capitol site against the new attacks. Right now the funding situation is perilous for the Capitol Police. The situation starts with the Congress passing its spending bill last year to pay for the entire Capitol complex, including the Capitol Police and a projection of their expected overtime. As it was dryly put, Congress did not budget (last summer) for the January 6 insurrection. Who knew? Everything spent on dealing with that insurrection went beyond budgeted-for projections.

But the cost in funding for the Capitol Police was much more than simply what they spent that day. More than 150 Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan Police officers were injured while engaging with rioters. Dozens of officers left the department in the months since.

I remember this commercial on WTTV channel 4, Indianapolis in the late 60’s early 70’s. Called Don’s Guns. This handsome silver haired, mustached man with designer glasses would advertise his guns with such charm and suave, that you would buy it. At the end, he would have a cigar in one hand, and the other would be pointing his finger at you saying. " Folks, I don’t want to make money, I just love to sell guns. HEH,HEH,HEH!" It was that devious laugh that i will never forget, and never will.

My question is this? Is Kamala in favor of funding also? Will she be in TOW with JOE, or OUT of SINK with AOC! This party is DIVIDED, But Kamala will WIN no matter what!
