Professors/teachers should be required to tell their students the truth: slaves were happy and loved their masters, “Negroes” wanted to have their own schools, restaurants, water fountains and everyone knows the cool kids sit at the back of the bus, the 5,000 who were lynched were uppity and deserved it. And of course it was the white people who sacrificed and gained no economic benefit from civilizing their little black brothers.
For the umpteenth time the definition of “Critical” in Critical Race Theory is “analyzing the merits and faults of …”. It is not “expressing adverse opinions of…”. For example: Critical analysis of any subject allows one to better rebut intentionally critical attacks.
The law is always a codification of the interests of those who have the power to make the laws. That should be pretty obvious. It’s not just race; think about the history of laws about women’s rights—including voting, owning property, even being able to get a credit card. What about regulations protecting the health and safety of workers? And so on and so on. Critical Race Theory simply recognizes one important aspect of a general process.
Yeah, Varvel, we know whites always treated blacks so well… And that whites are so law-abiding — unless race is involved…
Katherine Johnson (of “Hidden Figures” fame) mentions Cordie Cheek in her biography.
Cordie Cheek (1916 – 1933) was a 17-year-old1 African-American youth who was lynched by a white mob in Maury County, Tennessee near the county seat of Columbia. After being falsely accused of raping a young white girl, Cheek was released from jail when the grand jury did not indict him, due to lack of evidence. The county magistrate and two other men from Maury County abducted Cheek from Nashville, where he was staying with relatives near Fisk University, took him back to the county, and turned him over to a lynch mob. The mob mutilated the youth and murdered him by hanging.
Varvel, you SHOULD be embarrassed that you don’t know the details about CRT nor where it is taught. but you are sickeningly more interested in propaganda.
This has gotten to the point of being funny. Really: This ‘toon made me chuckle. The folks like Varvel who think they’re making a point haven’t got a clue, and they keep hammering their delusion home as though it made sense.
Bear in mind, I know that their job is to hammer home the GQP bull shift, regardless of how silly it is, or how dumb it makes them look. But you’d think that they could get their heads up out of the muck far enough to see what it looks like to the rest of us.

You have the wrong caption in the crack. You meant to put, “Right wing wacko white supremacist Qanon believing tRumpithizers”.

When you don’t want to teach kids about slavery but want to preserve confederate monuments, that’s called hypocritical race theory.
When you want prayer and pledges of allegiance along with the teaching of whitewashed history, that’s indoctrination not education.

Person 01) I like Donald Trump.
Person 02) I like Hilary Clinton.
How do we decide for whom to vote?
Critical thinking.
That means first we get rid of “like”. I “like” my neighbor, Bob, but he’d be a soup-sandwich president. Like should not be an issue.
Which means we have to decide, critically, who would serve our nation best. We ask questions like;
Who has the most experiance in government?
Does apparent success in business transfer to success in government?
Was Benghazi really a thing, or merely a ploy to discredit the SOS?
Does a mans well publicized racial bias and predatory sexual tendencies matter?
Does this person have the temperment to fulfill the duties of the Office of the President.
Critical thinking is important. It is scary. It makes us think rationally and helps us make difficult decisions.
We have 400+ years of skeletons in our scary racial closet many of us are ill equipped to acknowledge.
It’s time, boys and girls, to turn on the lights and clean out that closet. To see who we were and decide who we are going to be. Critically.

Maybe if you replace the label on the crack with racism, you’d actually be saying something other than nonsense.

Yes. Learning how laws may disproportionately affect one group, does make a difference. Changing those laws will then result in more Liberty for all.

How can you bee so STUPID as to use the Liberty bell as a symbol to counter CRT.

Which is why they hate democracy.
