I look back at my childhood… period… and realize how good we had it. TV shows didn’t come with warnings, heroes were heroes, and not less evil than villains, tons of books to read at the library. Shows like “My Three Sons”, “Hogan’s Heroes”. Played for HOURS with paper airplanes, and played “Dots” on old news papers.
Do you realize cars and phones (as well as a bunch of other devices, too numerous to mention, but I did anyway) now talk to us and it’s no longer a novelty. Think about HAL in 2001 a Space Odyssey. That’s the norm now.
I loved the show “Knight Rider” – As a teenaged girl, I thought Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) was ok, but K.I.T.T., on the other hand, was GORGEOUS!
@dja1701 Along the same lines, I watched Blue Thunder (with Roy Scheider) last night. I remember thinking it was a pretty cool movie in 1983. In 2021, not so much.

One of those shows you thought was great when it was first broadcast, but looks ridiculous now.

There was a show in the ’70’s called Probe which featured what appeared to be high tech devices like body cams which seems quaint nowadays.

Definitely not — KITT’s autopilot works way better then mine does!

Wouldn’t be surprised if Elon Musk run with this idea. I would love to talk with my car!

Was Musk even born when the show was on?

“Why was Knight Rider called Knight Rider? The car’s name was KITT; nobody rode Michael Knight."

Elon Musk wasn’t the creator of anything. He made a very good investment quite a while ago and has been playing with his money ever since.

I could never watch “Knight Rider”, I’d be laughing too hard because the voice of K.I.T.T. was Captain Nice.
