It’s hard when things you think are perfectly okay come under attack from folks who think otherwise. And it’s really hard when they’re in the majority. And it’s worst of all if you have a feeling that they might actually be correct, after all…
Well I was on a forum for gardening and a questioner asked for help and I told her she was watering wrong. She got all Karen and got me banned. So I am agreeing with Lisa on this one point. People can’t handle the truth that they are not infallible.
If one defines “cancel culture” as a movement to deny, diminish, and/or remove someone/thing from public acceptance/view, then it’s been around since the advent of mass media, or more precisely medium with the printing presses in the mid-1800s that made newspapers cheap + widespread literacy.
Ms Benson clearly favors codifying and imposing state and federal laws establishing one or more evangelical Cafeteria Christian tenets, e.g., anti-abortion, anti-birth control, anti-same sex unions, anti-LGBQT human rights, etc., as America’s de jure religion on everyone from sea to shining sea, but rejects acknowledging, much less honoring, the free expression of religious beliefs by those don’t hold with one or more of the evangelical Cafeteria Christian tenets.
What is particularly disgusting is that both the witting and unwitting evangelical Cafeteria Christian movers and shakers behind the dismantling of our First Amendment religious protections are the religious and cultural descendants of immigrants who fled Europe to escape religious persecution. Benson’s and their hypocrisy is manifestly palpable.
Yes, Jesus WOULD NOT agree with today’s “Christians”, and he WOULD rebuke them as Hypocrites.
Of course, as a Brown Person from the Mid-East, most of today’s “Christians” would either run him out of town, or attempt a “Second Amendment Solution” to stop his preaching.
Christ said all men are brothers and hate has no place between brothers. Clearly instructing to make peace with your brother before worshiping the Lord. And Lisa, that includes brown, black, yellow, red, gay , straight, trans, and poor people.
Both sides practice cancel culture, there’s no use denying it, you can fill a big book with examples. The problem that Republicans have with it (now anyway), is that liberals have been so much better at it(this time around).
The reason is that the people who do the work in media are liberal and the people who run it like to make money. Add to that the message Republicans have is not popular with the majority of Americans. It’s not a fair fight and the only thing that Republicans can do is complain bitterly and try to legislate some advantage.

I owe my Trump-supporting friends an apology. I’ve been critical of the Trump presidency these last four years, and am still exhausted from the experience. But to be fair, President Trump wasn’t that bad, other than when he incited an insurrection against the government, mismanaged a pandemic that killed nearly half a million Americans, separated children from their families, lost those children in the bureaucracy, tear-gassed peaceful protesters on Lafayette Square so he could hold a photo op holding a Bible in front of a church, tried to block all Muslims from entering the country, got impeached, got impeached again, had the worst jobs record of any president in modern history, pressured Ukraine to dig dirt on Joe Biden, fired the FBI director for investigating his ties to Russia, bragged about firing the FBI director on TV, took Vladimir Putin’s word over the US intelligence community, diverted military funding to build his wall, caused the longest government shutdown in US history, called Black Lives Matter a “symbol of hate,” lied nearly 30,000 times, banned transgender people from serving in the military, ejected reporters from the White House briefing room who asked tough questions, vetoed the defense funding bill because it renamed military bases named for Confederate soldiers, refused to release his tax returns, increased the national debt by nearly $8 trillion, had three of the highest annual trade deficits in U.S. history, called veterans and soldiers who died in combat losers and suckers, coddled the leader of Saudi Arabia after he ordered the execution and dismembering of a US-based journalist, refused to concede the 2020 election, hired his unqualified daughter and son-in-law to work in the White House, walked out of an interview with Lesley Stahl, called neo-Nazis “very fine people,” suggested that people should inject bleach into their bodies to fight COVID, abandoned our allies the Kurds to Turkey, pushed through massive tax cuts for the …

Lisa Benson’s ‘cult’ of RepubliQanism has no qualms in beating the dead horse of the “big lie” and committing violence to support their position.

Is this not the very essence of “religion”. Outrage against everything other than your own clan.. The original concept of racism.

That’s what Republicans do on Sunday.
Jesus said feed the hungry, heal the sick.
Republicans say, “take away their food stamps and Obamacare and vote for a racist unfeeling dictator.”

And another thing. For a party that uses an elephant as a mascot, an animal portrayed as having a fabulous memory, they seem to forget their past.
