I miss the days when it was illegal for pharmaceutical companies (and lawyers and doctors) to advertise. Wish we could go back to that!

Okay, I had to check. Yes, these are all real words. Although I didn’t look deeper to see if one could actually get lipodystrophy between two trochanters, as “bitrochanteric lipodystrophy” seems to imply.

The drug advertisers don’t both speaking fast any more; they seem to have discovered that no one pays any attention. Although that clown would give people pause … probably not a good scene to include particularly when talking about agonizing death.

As long as there isn’t a chance for erectile disfunction, men will shrug off all other warnings.

    Interesting collection of side effects:

    - dropsy: An old term for the swelling of soft tissues due to the accumulation of excess water.

    - Erysipelas is a bacterial skin infection involving the upper dermis that characteristically extends into the superficial cutaneous lymphatics.

    - Dumdum fever: Also called kala-azar, a chronic, potentially fatal parasitic disease of the viscera (the internal organs)

    - grippe: old-fashioned term for influenza

    - phthisis: pulmonary tuberculosis or a similar progressive systemic disease.

    - quinsy: inflammation of the throat

    - Saint Vitus Dance: Sydenham chorea is a neuropsychiatric manifestation of rheumatic fever. It is characterized by rapid, uncoordinated jerking movements primarily affecting the face, hands and feet.

    - pruritus: Pruritus is defined as an unpleasant sensation that provokes the desire to scratch.

    - Sepsis: Sepsis is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when the body’s response to an infection damages its own tissues.

    - anaphylactic shock: a severe allergic reaction

    - bitrochanteric lipodystrophy: An abnormal condition, affecting mostly women, where excessive fat deposits occur on the buttocks and outer, upper thighs.

    - agonizing death: well, that’s kind of self-explanatory.

My favorite is the warning on the Viagra commercials.

    GUARANTEED to drum up sales.

“But its worth it, for the drugs I need”. That is from a music/cartoon video very much worth looking up on Youtube. It is called “The drugs I need”.
