The regular season in Germany only has another week to go. League champion and “Das Pokal” has been decided. Still it’s interesting for maybe a third of the clubs. Some are trying to avoid being sent to the “second league” and others are trying to qualify for international competitions next year. In the second and third leagues there are teems trying to finish well enough to “clime the latter”. Both Berlin teams had ties last week. That was enough for Hertha to avoid going down. The irony of celebrating a 0-0 tie with Köln seems not to occur to most Hertha fans. F.C. Union Berlin being able to tie Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 was more of an accomplishment but failing to win was probably the end of hopes for the European League next year.
