Biden’s doing quite good with his goals though. He aimed for 100 million vaccines provided in 100 days, and hit it a week after just half that time. He changed the goal to 200 million and is doing well to get there. My parents are getting vaccinated this week and I’m glad they get to be a part of that number.
Bipartisanship requires BOTH parties to compromise. And when the right wingers don’t, well, Democrats have traditionally moved over toward them. I’m happy to see Biden is NOT falling into that traditional trap.
The Democrats have moved far enough right, time for the right to start moving left. In anyway, Biden’s approval has been very bipartisan. Biden said early on, he was looking for bipartisan support from the voters, as common man.
What happened to the “poison-pill” legislation — that would supposedly disadvantage the right if not passed — that the Democrats were going to use to convince the Republicans to compromise on issues that benefit everyone?
Do not pretend that the Republican party was open to any kind of negotiation of compromise. Yet again Republicans treat honesty like used toilet paper and then say with wide eyes, we are pure and innocent.
It is very difficult to achieve bipartisanship when you have two sides with widely different cultures. It seems like it was easier decades ago when both parties had the progress of the country as a goal. Now we have members of one side that wants to rush headlong into the future and the other side wants to withdraw posthaste to the 1800s. I’m one who prefers to move forward carefully.
Democrats have shown no bipartisanship over the years and certainly not with President Trump’s administration. The Democrat party is essentially an opposition party now. Whatever the Republicans support the Democrats are going to oppose, no matter how rational and logical the position

The new Republican symbol is the lemming and they’re acting like it with their intransigence over working for effective government.

Hard to be bipartisan when dealing with Republican stupidity.

It’s hard to have bipartisanship when the other party is infantile.

Thanks to the magic of “shadow banning,” no one but me can see this comment.
Maybe that explains the “echo chamber” here.

“BIpartisan”?
How many here remember the time when people used the term “NONpartisan”?
