I remember a story, from the 1950s or 1960s I think, where some army officer was supposed to get captured by the enemy and interrogated and tortured for information. He was supposed to break and give what he thought was truthful information. But it was really false disinformation. And he almost screwed it up by holding out for so long. (Sorry, I don’t remember the title of the story — it’s been a ‘few’ years since I read it.)
