Why do I get the feeling that the last panel is a take-off on comic strip characters whose eyebrows are on top of their hair near the top of their head like Luann from the Luann comic strip?
This reminds me of something that happened when I was a kid. My dad was a barber and he cut relatives’ hair for free. Once my uncle and his 2 sons were over to get haircuts and my dad must’ve gotten scissors happy because afterwards both of my cousins were crying that their hair was cut too short and they couldn’t go to school looking like that. My uncle said he was sorry and they wouldn’t have my dad cut their hair anymore but as they went on and on he got fed up and said he couldn’t glue the hair back on. I about bust a gut laughing.
My wife cuts my hair with clippers; it isn’t challenging. But one day, after making the big cut up the middle, she asked. “Don’t we usually have a guard on it at this point?” There was only one thing to do – my entire head of hair was reduced to a few day’s growth. I wouldn’t do it like that purposely but the reactions I got at work were priceless! “I’m Swifty Morgan!” (“Support Your Local Gunfighter” with James Garner. Swifty Morgan, the real gunfighter rather than the town drunk Garner was putting forward as Swifty, turned out to be “as bald as an egg.”)
It was the day before the first day of school for my daughter’s senior year. Known for changing hair color, but always natural colors, she decided to change her color. It did not go well and came out a brilliant purple. She was horrified and devistated and it was 10pm. I called a friend of mine who had been a hair dresser for many years. She packed up her gear and drove 30 minutes to spend the next 5 hours stripping the color out and achieving and acceptable color. Disaster averted.
One little lock is curling upwards, but for the most part her bangs are just above her eyebrows. There’s nothing wrong with that length and they are not “butchered”.
This is the same Michael who painted his face green for Halloween, then could not get it off. Then he whined that he was seen that way at school, he would be called “Avacado Head” for the rest of his life.
Good thing that Elizabeth realizes that school is all about what other kids think, as opposed to insignificant issues such as doing well in Miss Edwards’ class.

A girl her age does make a very small thing a mountain. I have had Lizzes in my middle school classes over the years. Exhausting.

Next day when Liz comes home from school: “Everyone loved my new bangs. Thanks mom!”

I can not believe that she still complains about something so insignificant, she is a drama queen

When will Elizabeth learn that true friends won’t care how you wear your hair or for that matter dress?

Unfortunately Liz you have a very controlling mother who always thinks she’s right.

Brothers and sisters always razz each other. But…if someone hassles one of them, the other is there to defend them.

You could cut some hair off the back and glue it to the hair in the front. No one will notice. …because no one is really looking.

Funny how such unimportant stuff as bangs is so important to the young.

A serious tragedy might happen if Liz posted a picture on social media and asked for feedback.
