Because Chip thinks that being a traitor and attacking American Institutions is okay, but preventing the spread of dangerous right wing propaganda is bad.
One more time for the slow people on the right: LIES ARE NOT PROTECTED SPEECH!!!
Considering the current administration was responsible for shutting down the insurrection, and the current administration instead fanned the flames of sedition, what’s your argument here? Or do you think those private companies shouldn’t stop accounts that incite violence and sedition?
“Big tech” allowed Trump and his minions to spread lies and encourage violence. Considering that while Trump has been banned, his minions are picking up the slack, “Big tech” is not doing enough to change things. They take forever to flag lies, and the minions just repost them, encouraging others to spread the manure before it gets flagged or deleted again.
This insurgency was worse than Benghazi—5 people killed. They attacked the Capitol—an attack on the United states—an attack on all of us. Yet Trump continued to spread his lies in order to whip up his cult members. He needed to be taken off.
ONE MORE TIME, Chump Bok… “VIOLATE THE TERMS OF SERVICE OF A SOCIAL MEDIA SITE, AND THEY CAN BAN YOU”!! It really IS as simple as that.
Try going to a restaurant without any pants and see if they let you in. Try driving the wrong way down a one-way street and see what the local Police have to say about that. It’s EXACTLY THE SAME THING!
People whine about “Big Tech”, but do you think Trump could have been shut down so easily if social media were made up of hundreds of little mom and pop operations?
“Big Tech” couldn’t have this kind of power is we had Socialist policies preventing businesses from buying up their competitors and accumulating outsized market shares. So it’s all these knee-jerk opponents of Socialism who created the problem.
Funny how Chip didn’t draw any of the Republicans in his picture that actually supported and aided in the insurrection… which I would say is exponentially worse.
Clearly and forthrightly, denounce Q-anon as idiocy, repeating the denunciations as long and loud as necessary to drive it from our body politic; and
Clearly and directly with detail dispel the myth and fiction of a stolen election with facts debunking the popular tales told by our seditious insurrectionists such as Mr. Trump, Mr. Guiliani, Ms. Powell, Mr. Hawley, Mr. Cruz et al, the pundits and commentators of opinion media, and our misguided and sometimes malevolent fellow citizens.
In other words, to paraphrase Mitt Romney, tell the truth. The clamping down by social media results from it’s misuse, fueled by the BS that Mr. Trump has been feeding America these past 5 years. Call it out, don’t coddle it! We are experiencing now how dangerous tolerating and spreading lies is. Those who spread or ignored Mr. Trump’s crap are in pari dilecto with him.
To hell with all this ‘free speech’ malarkey! Yes people have the right to say anything they want. Politicians however, have an obligation to ensure their electors are told the truth. A political party that not only allows, but encourages lying, misdirection or pandering to conspiracy theorists, should be roundly castigated. The party had not only the right to rein in the excesses of Trumpspeak, but a duty to the people to so do. They chose power over people, before the people. Sow the wind, reap the bloody whirlwind.

Mr. Bok, i don’t understand this cartoon; who or what would you have shutting down an insurrection?

I’ll say it again. Pretend Twitter is a bakery, and Trump is trying to force them to bake him a gay wedding cake.
