I’ve no recollection of wearing my grandfather’s (or even my father’s) glasses when I was Nelson’s age. I was just first prescribed glasses in fifth grade, but didn’t officially wear them full-time a few years after high school graduation (no contact lenses in the years between).
I wear glasses with prismed lenses to correct double vision. A friend asked to try them on once. Judging from his reaction, he would have been puking if he left them on for more than a few seconds.
