Hard to imagine how anyone can get used to 3,000 deaths a day and rising. But, apparently, there are those who consider that doing a great job.

There are states of existence we can tolerate when necessary — people survive years of vicious war — but they don’t get used to it. They don’t wish for it to never end. And when it is over, they often face immense damage to society and their own psyches which needs to be addressed. The vaccine won’t end this any more than D-Day ended World War II. We’ll all still be wearing masks for a good long while even after the vaccine. But no sane person doesn’t want it to be over.

So far, my predictions of armed interference with the elections and Trump declaring martial law and imprisoning the enemies of the state have been wrong. For this I am thankful.

Nonetheless, I will make another prediction that when the vaccine comes out and is readily available, people will think it’s “all clear” and go back to life as they want it and stop taking the precautions that still need to be taken until enough of the population is vaccinated.

We are in position to win a major victory, but it ain’t over yet.

We’re not used to it yet not likely to be. Wear masks and wash frequently, distance ourselves even from family, who also follow the protocols. Approaching the best hugging time of the year expecting a phone call from infected family member or friend. Not a normal I can even get close to calling normal Whatever, we’ll handle it.

But we can wish everyone a merry Christmas. That wish will never change.

Not to worry.. this “new normal” will be with us for a long time even with the vaccine. In fact the vaccine will contribute to more cases for a time. Folk that got vaccinated will not wear masks or socially distance.. invincible as they are now. This will lead to even less participating in mask wearing/socially distancing.. and consequently more spread.

The U.S. doesn’t suffer from heavy levels of air pollution common in China cities nor seem to get hit with other respiratory viruses (SARS, etc.) like in SE Asia, for which people wear masks daily. But masks out in public will become the new normal for many.

With no mask, I’d have to wash my whole face. Sad.

Texas wants to secede from the Union. Let’s prepare them for what they can expect. Cut off all Federal Funding immediately and remove all the military bases and other Federal agencies.

People keep talking about The Vaccine. Hey, there are dozens of vaccines out there in various stages of readiness. The J&J vaccine, an adenovirus vaccine like the AstraZeneca vaccine, is likely to be in major production next month. It has the advantage in common with the AstraZeneca, of being stable at normal refrigeration temperatures and its own advantage of being a one-shot deal. I haven’t looked into the vaccines from GSK/Sanofi or Sputnik 5 or those from Asian nations, but they are all being worked on out there, more and more in international collaborative efforts. In other words, there is more than one bullet in the gun.

The vaccine isn’t going to change the new normal. Even after you’ve been vaccinated you’ll still have to wear a mask for the benefit of others.

Hey! THE ORANGE IDIOT has stated time and time again that he is doing a bigly job. Mitch McMafia has endorsed this position so The Repuslican Crime Cult knows it’s true.

Even with the vaccine, we are going to have to use due diligence for at least another year. Longer if people refuse vaccinations and refuse to wear masks over their nose and mouth.

I’m just glad none of these people were around during the World Wars, I’m not sure America could have won with these idiots around.

I am WAY ready for the vaccine, but I’ll probably keep wearing a mask past the point of “need”… Didja see that “regular” flu cases are WAAAY down this year? I (don’t) wonder why THAT is…

After the Bird Flu, Masks became “Normal everyday wear” for a lot of people in Japan & China.

    It could happen here, too.

I want to know how they’re going to drink their coffee without removing their masks. I’ve contemplated going to a bar and drinking my beer through a straw, but I ain’t gonna eat inside a restaurant until the pandemic is past us.
