The whiny crybabies who refuse to wear masks or respect social distancing and complain about their “rights” (like they have a “right” to expose others to harm — clearly they think they have a “right” to drive drunk, run red lights, drive whatever speed they want regardless of how much they put others in danger) are…
a) the reason we now have more people dying every day than on 9/11
b) continued need for the very restrictions these whiny crybabies protest against
If these whiny crybabies had just followed the rules when they were first issued in responsible jurisdictions back in March, this would all be behind us by now, as it is in so many other countries with far better outcomes.
Yes, that’s so. So (wo)man up and cope. Or… you could be an idjit and potentially bring death to you or a loved one. The best advice coming out lately is to cut yourself a little slack, but not a lot: Don’t spend much time inside, even masked, and not at all if there are unmasked people there. But DO spend some time outside. Maybe take a walk, masked and distanced if you are with friends. And if you’re 3 or more meters apart, outside, you don’t even need the mask.
If there was a way to permit all the deniers the “freedom” to do what Lisa presents, BUT treat them like lepers when they get sick (isolate from the general population and not clog our health care system) then by all means let them “enjoy” their limited time.
You said, “So what do the bible bashers think Covid is if it isn’t a plague from their god?” I would like to know too. I’d bet many of them would claim that Covid was a punishment from God if it were not happening in the USA.
For those whose businesses are suffering because of the pandemic, how do they square that with their prosperity theology?
Sad, isn’t it Lisa? You know what’s even more sad? It didn’t have to be this bad, but people like you helped to push the virus into the stratosphere. Sad. Very sad.
New X-Mas carroll this year, sung to the tune of ‘Jingle Bells.’
ICU, ICU, intubate Grand-ma,Oh so low her oxygen goes as we sing fa-la-la!ICU, ICU, Grand-ma died aloneBecause we hosted a super spreader partyAt Christmas eve in our home!
Isolation ain’t so bad – we have football on tv almost every day and at least half of the games scheduled are played – the other half a cancelled because of some HOAX – but we have football to distract us.
If Lisa manages to get infected with covid-19, I wonder what sort of cartoon she’ll draw when she’s told the hospital is already overbooked and has no room for her.
For the sane part of the country, the main celebration is going to have to wait till Jan 20. But cleaning up the filth left behind is going to be a long haul.
DDWiz is certainly right about these crybabies. What would they do if things really got rough?
My Dad was in the Army WW2, five years total.
Served in Europe, he says to me one day; “Son, I saw people with nothing, but what they were wearing, and that wasn’t much. Makes you understand, all you need is enough food, warm clothes and a place to sleep. Everything else is luxury.”
The schools need to be reopened, or closed for the year. Virtual learning is a joke. To say it’s a failed experiment is an understatement. One of two things is going to happen if this idiocy continues. There are going to be a lot of former honor students who fail their grade, or they are going to get passed, and go into the next school year unprepared. Either way, the kids lose.
All the Whos in Whoville welcomed Christmas despite the Grinch having stolen their trees and decorations and presents and roast beast (down to the last can of Who Hash). Even if they couldn’t all join hands because of social distancing and had to conduct their group-sing of “Fah who for-aze, Dah who dor-aze, Welcome Christmas, Come this way!” by Zoom link (Whoom link?) they’d have had a joyous Christmas regardless.
Happy holidays to everyone, circumstances being what they are. And to those who celebrate Christmas in particular, your reason for celebrating is unchanged even if your manner of celebrating will need to be rather different this year.
Australia and other countries had smart science believing leaders and no MAGAs around to flaunt the rules and they will be having a joyous and safe holiday season without their hospitals being overwhelmed. This is all on trump and his idiot cult members.
They can have morgues, though, and in places where the rat-lickers have filled up the morgues the gummint is bringing in refrigerator trucks to hold the excess bodies until they can be buried. Free! That’s freedom for you – free reefer trucks for the bodies of wingnuts who refuse to wash their hands, keep their distance, and wear a mask.
I have been masking up and social distancing. And I am determined that Covid won’t be the Grinch who stole my Christmas! It’s gonna be different, to be sure, but I will celebrate as well as I can while protecting myself and the people I care about. I am quite optimistic that we as a nation will reach herd immunity to Covid by mid-2021 or so. And that, by next holiday season, America will be more like America circa 2019 than America circa 2020! In the meantime, we as a nation need to put on our “big kid” pants and do what we need to do (wearing masks, social distancing, avoiding large crowds, etc.) so we can bring the Covid rates down again. The CDC has stated that if 80% or more follow these guidelines consistently for 12 weeks (or 3 months), we can bring the rates under control. The good news is there are more of us playing by the rules (at least in DC, where I live) than not. This won’t be the final chapter for America. It’s gonna be a tough winter, but the calvary is coming! Take heart, and stay safe!
