Land of the free ? Not if YOUR party has it’s way. Didn’t your messiah once call veterans suckers and losers ?

Land of the free… tell that to all those children in cages separated from their parents, Lord knows if some of them will ever be reunited thanks to the mess Drump is leaving behind! Politics aside, my respect to all the veterans out there, you deserve to be celebrated every day!

Yes, the whole world is wide open to American travelers, and of course all Americans have plenty of time for travel and other of life’s joys because no “boss” can impose on them the dilemma of endless drudgery versus starvation. And we owe it all to the brave lads and lasses who repelled the Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian, Panamanian, Grenadian, Afghan, and Iraqi invasions of our land!

Republicans love the military in war. Other than that, not so much other than lip service. Look up Hoovertowns for a good example.

Ironic to be honoring valor while the commander in chief is hiding under his desk.. pouting over the very thing these men died for.

At this time there is a lot of emphasis (mostly an American thing) on keeping us free. I served.. but have never figured out “free” from what? You are still subjected to the will of the government.. colored Americans are subjected to a level of justice that that whites are not.. you can not vacation in Cuba.. and at the moment not even free to have the peoples choice as president. So, free from what?

You went to war with Japan over Pearl Harbor.. 75 years later they own Hawaii. You went to war with Vietnam to stop communism.. yet America is smothered with socialist like programs. Free from the likes of Hitler.. you elected trump who favors dictators like Putin and Kim Jong-un.. That freedom thing is a good propaganda slogan.. but means little when you pull back the covers

What’s with all the political rhetoric? Can’t we just thank our Veterans for their service and let it go at that? Thank you Veterans.

Quite right; we Americans are free only because our veterans so bravely killed many small brown women and children in faraway lands and we should thank them for their sacrifices.

A vapid sentiment, with no substance. If there were, you would be defending the democracy those veterans fought for instead of defending the draft dodger trying to undermine it.

Nice WWI helmet. Mark I steel helmet, I believe. But Veteran’s Day is on the day on which WWI ended (exactly 102 years ago today, at 11:00 Greenwich time, 4 am MST).

Why not draw people instead of the eagle?

Why not something like John Singer Sargent’s “Gassed?”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gassed_(painting)

Or the soldier looking on the grave of his bunkmate.

    https://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/search/object/nmah_445408

    Or this guy:

    https://museumcrush.org/the-art-the-soldiers-made-during-the-first-world-war/#gallery-6

I am with Ben Franklin on eagles. In 1784, he wrote to his daughter:

For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him.

With all this Injustice, he is never in good Case but like those among Men who live by Sharping & Robbing he is generally poor and often very lousy. Besides he is a rank Coward: The little King Bird not bigger than a Sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the District. He is therefore by no means a proper Emblem for the brave and honest Cincinnati of America who have driven all the King birds from our Country…

Note: I like to watch the Eagle Cams. They are handsome birds and generally good parents. They aren’t always stealing fish from Ospreys, but they will do so.

Ramirez, YOUR MESSIAH refers to The Brave as “suckers”.

    And “losers”.

    .

Trump has nothing but contempt for those who defended America.

    .

He cares about them just as much as he cares for the 250,000 covid dead.

Just like you and the other Trump Disciples.

Love the WWI helmet! My great grandfather was a pioneer submariner. The most dangerous time to be a submariner, and not because of the war.

Seems to remember there’s just one president who during his time in office publicly has dishonoured veterans.
