I remember in 2016 when every RW outfit demanded Hillary accept the results, even though she had conceded, within 48 hours of election night. You might want to check your hypocrisy, Dana.
Four years of not accepting the behavior of a wana be dictator blatantly ignoring the Constitution, alienating our allies, sacrificing the environment for the benefit of his donors and cruelty towards immigrants is not the same as not accepting the results. We hated the results but we accepted them.
big difference between not liking the results and not accepting the results… at least to any sane person with an ounce of integrity. But then we have Don the Con’s base.
Despite Democrats conceding the 2016 election results quickly, Trumpers have such a big chip on their shoulders that they still cannot accept that they conceded. Now somehow these Trumpers think they are better while doing the same thing they accuse Democrats of doing…
I woke up most every morning and went to bed most every night knowing the malignant, narcissistic psychopath was in the process of destroying my country via the presidency. I sure as hell didn’t like it but I didn’t encourage my Senators or Representative to stop the process with useless irrational lawsuits.
We DID accept the election results, though. We didn’t like Trump being president. We didn’t think he ruled with the consent of the governed. But we didn’t question that he was duly elected, or try to overthrow him, or in any way act as though he wasn’t president.
I accepted the results. For the past several years I’ve been saying, nearly every day, Wow, I can’t believe Trump is President. I couldn’t believe it, but I accepted it.
Not even close. From where I sit, everyone eventually accepted the result. What people could not accept was how big a lying, scheming, self centred, bigoted, racist, misogynist the country had installed in the White House to (supposedly), represent the WHOLE country, not just his base, or ‘those who voted for me’.
Fascist Trump is refusing to admit he legally lost. He lost the popular vote and he lost the electoral vote. Totally partisan divorced from reality Republicans continue to embarrass the USA and cast doubt on our democracy.
Except that Dems DID accept the election results. They didn’t go public with any plans to depose Il Douche and install someone else, no matter how much better it might be to have just about anyone else in charge.
Why? Because the Democrats choose to respect and uphold American institutions and values, like elections.
Um . . . Dana . . . how could it be that Trump’s presidency was not accepted when all that effort was put into impeaching him? Would that not make him a non-non-entity?

Dems did accept the election results; they refused to bow down and accept as normal the abhorrent behavior of the Right’s lord and savior.
