You’re good at giving advice Earl. You just don’t use it yourself. Then you pay the price.

Anyplace in the house, if I’ve been there today and Spouse finds a spot, she walks right up to it and touches it (if it’s not on the floor) and demands that I clean it up. I have, finally, discovered the appropriate response: I take a swipe at it, and if she complains again, I hand her the rag and say: “If you can see it, then you can clean it up.” There are not many things that AMD makes possible, but that’s one.

If you want to set standards, they’re your standards and you should be the one to meet them. IMHO

Just great today , Brian , thanks again . Maybe a happy tail in a couple of the panels of the precious Roscoe would have been nice . But still just great .

My second wife….ex now because I gave her the choice of either it’s me or the local bar, chose the bar….used to always be on me for leaving drops of coffee by the coffee maker before I went to work in the morning. She even reached around me one morning while I was still pouring coffee to clean up the one drop I spilled before I could clean it up….one morning I was making a cup, she yelled from the other room “You better clean that up!!”…..that lit me up. I yelled back..“Ok, what about THIS!!!”…and proceeded to pour the entire pot all over the kitchen sink and counter top. Went on to work. She never said a thing and never complained about it again. Relationship was on its last lap by then anyway.

It isn’t the “If you can see it, then clean it” rule that sticks out here; rather, that at his age, Earl still hasn’t figured it out.

A friend of my brother’s had AMD and it got so bad that he had no central vision at all, but his brain would recreate the wall behind whatever he was looking at. So his friends didn’t have any heads. My mother also has it, but she gets shots in her eyeballs and it’s partially arrested.
