Yes, of course, the hair and nails only appear to grow because the corpse’s flesh is retracting. It’s lovely.

The skin contracts slightly on the hands after dying, giving the illusion of nail growth.

When a hapless human meets fate in a Pacu stronghold, they collect the teeth and have the Pacu dentist implant them.

Even the relatively larger ruby throated hummingbird is small enough to get caught in spider webs. If you still have some in your yard at Halloween, be aware that they can suffer broken legs, broken wings, and even death from becoming entangled in the fake spider web decorations.

I once read that praying mantises will catch and eat hummingbirds. I looked up from the book at the hummer feeder at my window… AND THERE WAS A MANTIS PERCHED ATOP THE FEEDER!!!

I caught her and released her in a grasshoppery but flower-free meadow.

I always suspected that crazy talk about hair and fingernails growing after death was rubbish. I actually asked a funeral home director about it several years back and he confirmed it was false.

I wouldn’t put hip-hop and art in the same sentence.

Hair does not grow before death for bald people.

    A billion what?

    Pacu Fish steal dentures.

Those who have bug zappers feel a little more guilty now.

I can believe that about hummingbird because I mistook one for an insect once. I wish I could see hummingbirds more often.

May the Lord be with you.

Depends on when you think death occurs – is it when the organism no longer has any ‘moving parts’? Then by that definition, no growth of hair or nails.Or is it the moment the person no longer has a brain because it was shot out by a large bullet (or in the old days, removed by a guillotine/axe/etc)? In which case, the heart still beats for a (VERY) short time, so the blood is still flowing (especially towards the former head area, and thence to the ground). Your cells are not powered by a switch that instantly shut them off – they are analog. Some things in the cells may actually still be happening for a few minutes! It’s more like many modern computers – shut it off and it’s several seconds, maybe a minute or so, before it is actually off.And yes, the hair (in this example, in other areas than the missing head) and nails are still growing. After death by that definition. But I’m talking seconds.Yes, the common statement that hair/nails don’t grow after death is based on a lot longer time frame. As the skin contracts, etc, hair/nails may protrude further, but without growing measurably more. So as they prepare the body for burial, people were convinced the nails & hair were still growing.

I thought it was Dr. Dre, but a quick check informs he would have been, except he paid the taxman $250M leaving him with $779M.

Dr. Dre became a billionaire when Apple bought his company Beats in 2014, much before Jay-Z.
