I do agree with Rall here. Sacre Bleu! Unless, of course some kind of miracle happens and the GOPists decide to do the right thing… or even Amy C. Barrett.

RBG was “occasionally progressive” in the same way that Ted Rall is occasionally demented.

I’ll give him that. There have been no “liberals” on the Court since 1991. We had four moderates, and none have propsed changes like the Warren Court. In fact, it was the other five that expanded the so-called right to bear arms from the militia to individuals.

The Committee of Bernie Bros for Trump has spoken.

However, it appears Covid has decide to speak for itself.

Rall is applying for admission to the Church Of Trump.

First step is to make comments as stupid as other Trump Disciples.

    .

No Ted, the reason to vote for Biden is because he will be a good president and Trump is a catastrophe.

I believe Rall’s thinking, in a nutshell, is there won’t be any meaningful change without revolution and it’s not bad enough yet to trigger that. So he’s doing his very small bit to move things in that direction.

Yeah, take that, Ruth Bader Ginsburg! And screw you, people who admire her and mourn her death! (Mostly unattractive women with spit flying out of their mouths.) Ted Rall doesn’t care whose toes he steps on!

In the next four years Breyer will be gone for sure and likely Thomas and Alito. Replace those three with 40 something judges and the Court will be 7-2 for the next 30+ years. Gone-abortion,ACA,voting rights,EPA,Affirmative Action.

Right. I mean, why not leave Trump in . . . in case the ‘rona takes another SCOTUS justice or something. Thinking outside of the box is not a skill when it’s nothing more than irrationality.

Yep, the country has never been good enough, our system of government has never been good enough, no President has ever been good enough and now Rall tells us that Ginsburg was not good enough. I’m being truly sincere when I question why Rall even lives in this country. I understand that circumstance may be keeping him here now; but these are not new thoughts based solely on current events. I suppose his sycophants will now chide me on how hard Rall works for change.

If the RGB level of progressive isn’t good enough for Rall, then he must be a level of progressive that is unattainable in an oxygen atmosphere. Which begs the question…what planet does he live on?

Mr. Rall. I’m trying to figure you out. You are obviously a Progressive, but how do you figure that your tantrums against Mr. Biden are going to get you anywhere. They’re so personal and over the top. It’s painful to watch.

The Democrats can change the Supreme Court. They can increase the number of judges. They can move judges off the Supreme Court to a lower court, and replace them with non-crazy people. They can… oh, wait. They’re Democrats. They’ll do exactly nothing.

Biden has said that, if he’s president, nothing will change. Which means he’ll keep everything Trump has done. That leaves people with the forlorn hope that he at least won’t put the pedal down to make things so much worse. (And yes, it can definitely get worse).

Oh, yeah, it’s only about the RBG United States Supreme Court replacement. Barrett will be confirmed, and the Court will be 6-3 conservative.

Hold on a ‘sec. Between now and 2024, there may well be one or more other USSC vacancies due to retirement or death. Who do you want to nominate/approve in the Senate in case this happens?

And there are other federal court positions besides the USSC which constantly cycle through justices due to retirement/death. Currently, 40 tRump nominees remain pending while awaiting final Senate action, and 24 additional vacancies await nomination/approval.

Between 2020 and 2024, it is not impossible another 150 positions will require replacement, plus or minus 25 or so.

One could legitimately wonder if tEd rAll & Co. envision a tRump 2nd term and continued® Senate majority controlling all those judgeships would be the final straw which brings about the revolution progressives will win thus bringing about some utopia that group imagines is possible and will implement?

It is a perfect world fantasy no more unreasonable than the ol’ two millennia (and counting!) 2nd coming [as if there was ever a 1st divine anything to eventually one fine, fine day follow along after].

Never let anything even only somewhat good (like stopping Trump, and buying time for youthful progressives to age into political party power positions instead of possibly being snuffed out by potentially repressive continuation/aggrandizement of power reich-wing US conservatism) interfere with encouragement of chaos expected to (somehow) result in whatever sort of society tEd rAll and his acolytes have convinced themselves will emerge from the smoldering rubble.

Everybody will learn a lesson from the next tRump presidential term, and a pure society will be born! Let’s all be born! Not again, but finally!

“Occasionally Progressive”? RBG was a steadfastly leftist justice. No, we must elect Biden because, if any other justices leave during the next four years, he will replace them with liberals (yes, Mr. Rall, actual liberals). Also because his policies are leftist.

If you apply your individual purity test so harshly that we fail to elect even moderately left-leaning presidents, you shouldn’t later be surprised how bad everything is. Things improved when Obama was president. Yes, he wasn’t perfect, but neither was he all-powerful. And he was infinitely preferable to DJT, as is Biden. As Bill Maher said: power begets power. The more political power you pass up on because the candidate isn’t perfect, the less political power you will even be able to reach in the future. That’s why electing leftists is the top priority, regardless of how radical/moderate they are.
