    I just read that a true circumnavigation doesn’t occur unless the path crosses two antipodes. I wonder how many voyages have actually done that?

    FYI: Magellan, who is credited to be the first to circumnavigate the Earth did it by making two different trips. His first trip was easterly to the East Indies. His second trip was westerly where he died not far from his furthest easterly trip. The first to do it one direction were the 17 or 18 survivors of Magellan’s last voyage who bad mouthed Magellan and were later refuted by the logs kept one the survivors.
