The thing to understand is that he doesn’t think of other people at all. Except as markers: If he can make. you feel bad, he feels better. Or, if he’s trying to con someone, he’ll say whatever he imagines will help the con along, whether it’s direct or indirect. Entirely like Junior High kids putting down some “out” group for the delectation of whichever group they’re trying to get “in” with.
The Warrior President to end all needless wars . . . so we won’t need the military anymore. We can use the money to pay the Taliban to kill Russian soldiers instead if needed.
If he doesn’t think being a loser is a bad thing then he’ll still love himself come November. Of course him being bigly self delusional will lead to some interesting scenarios inside that Orange Buffoon pumpkin head of his. He’ll blame everybody and everything but himself.
Historicians agree that we can’t paste origins and outcomes of past events as full templates to future events. The 1918 Flu Epidemic — can we apply lessons from it to the Covid-19 Pandemic? Can the rise of Bolsheviks provide factors that allowed Putin to take control? The 1920s market rise and fall — similar to 2008 and 2020? The present fear of Socialism In America — similar to the Red Scare of the 1940s and 1950s? McCarthy era paranoia — a precursor to Trumpist Deep State warnings?
I wonder if Conservative “philosophers” that guide the spread of “Trumpism” depend too much on his TV persona; his speaking talent innate, but based on thin-ice personal vanity. Similar to outcomes with past autocrats, their likely plans for a hoped-for political movement “gang aft agley” because he actually thinks he’s infallible.
No temples totally describe Trumpism. But think it useful to read William L. Shirer’s BERLIN DIARY in this respect. Although the denouement of German fascism is, I hope, not a foreshadowing of a violent fall of Trumpism, the rise of “The Party of Trump” has many parallels.
Think of the 1930s Nuremberg rallies as compared to Trump rallies; of Republican disdain toward separation of government branches; of misused executive privilege and pardons; the nationwide news network to propagandize in favor the the Leader. Those are some parallels.
Trump goes off his leash to roll in his supposed genius. Like autocrats before him, he detours from the strategic maps and improvises many bridges too far. It may be that his trash comments against the military will be his undoing. So far, mostly retired generals have come out to remonstrate him. But I see a widespread awakening among others to his professed disdain toward their service.
It may soon be Trumperdammerung. Although nostalgia for the Trump years may linger, most people in future may wonder how “they” fell for him. Those red MAGA hats in back of the closet will be embarrassing reminders.
trump depends on “suckers”.. and surrounds himself with, dime a dozen.. “losers”. Keeps them so long as they serve his purpose.. then throws them under the bus when their actions become embarrassing.
John Kelly now claims that Trump didn’t call the members of the military “suckers and losers.” If he were honest, he would be able to say, at best, that he never personally HEARD Li’l Donnie these things. Just because Melania wasn’t in the room when Tiny and Stormy were going at it, nor when career criminal Cohen paid off Stormy (on behalf of career criminal Trump), doesn’t mean those events of actual objective reality did NOT take place.
Well, he’s now attacking the Joint Chiefs because they didn’t come to his defense: https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/07/politics/trump-attack-military-leadership/index.html

John Bolton was at the event and said Trump did I not say those things, and if he had Bolton would have had a whole chapter on it.

All that we can infer from Bolton’s statement is he did not HEAR the ☠resident say those things, NOT that they were not spoken.

Trump blames the past on Obama and the future on Biden and takes no responsibility for the present.
