The Jimmy Carter story is a myth. The codes are kept in a locked case carried by a nearby military aide.

The Nuclear codes were 00000000 until 1977.

Jimmy “One Term” Carter was and still is a nice guy. But as a prez, well, let’s just say that it did not go well on many fronts.

    Take care and gesundheit.

I make my New England “baked” beans in the Instant Pot all the time. Works great, takes 45 minutes instead of all day, and doesn’t heat up the kitchen.

Another one of those darned dinosaur names, where, by the time you’re done sayin’ it, the thing is extinct!

There used to be a T.V. advertisement that made the point that most canned beans were steamed, not baked. The advertised brand beans, however, were baked.

“Captain Hook” was one of the non-avian dinosaurs that most looked like today’s birds (the surviving dinosaurs).

One better. Bill Clinton lost the biscuit and didn’t tell anyone. For a couple MONTHS. It came to light only when it was time to turn the key in for the new codes.

And the nuclear code at the time was “000000”. All good myths should have some depth.
